There have been several instances witnessed by concerned community members and brought to the attention of the council.
Below are the laws that the DNR as well as the State of Iowa have enacted and are expected to be followed, even in our small community.
Do not ruin it for the people that adhere by that laws and appreciate the freedom to ride in town.

**Iowa DNR: In Iowa, drivers must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license to legally operate an ATV, UTV, or ORV on public roads.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, drivers must also adhere to a 35 mph speed limit and have liability insurance. www.iowadnr.gov
Key Requirements for Road Operation:
Age: 18 or older.
License: Valid driver's license required.
Insurance: Proof of liability insurance must be carried.
Vehicle: Must be registered with the Iowa DNR.
Equipment: Functional headlights, taillights, brake lights, horn, and mirror.
Speed: Do not exceed 35 MPH.
Safety: Headlights must be on, and a slow-moving vehicle sign displayed.
Routes: Allowed on 2-lane, non-interstate state highways or county roads, typically on the most direct route to a destination.
**State of Iowa Law: According to Iowa Code 321.234A(2), a person operating an ATV or UTV/ORV on public roads in Iowa must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Operators must also have insurance and obey the 35 mph speed limit. This applies to, but is not limited to, operation on gravel roads and authorized paved county roads.
