Pirate Island is collecting cases of bottled water for the Collinsville Fire Department. Donations can be dropped off at Pirate Island, and each case donated earns you an entry to win a $50 Pirate Island gift card!

🚨 TRAIN DERAILMENT UPDATE 🚨

August 16, 2026 | 7:30 p.m.

US-377 remains closed while crews continue clearing debris and relocating the derailed train cars.

Current estimates indicate that US-377 will remain closed for the next several hours. Motorists should continue avoiding the area and use alternate routes.

The Collinsville Fire Department will monitor the progress and provide additional updates as they become available.

Frontier Waste Management notified the city they are having equipment failure on one of their trash trucks.

There are about 40 residents who have not had their trash bins serviced.

Frontier is working diligently to get this repaired on site.

If they can not get this repaired on site they will have to recover the missed trash bins either tomorrow, Saturday August 8th or Monday, August 10th.

Frontier's goal is to service all residents today.

If your trash bin has not been serviced, please leave your bin curb side and they will be serviced.
