Below are the final results for the 5-O 5K Donut Run. I am addressing one of the place issues that was found after reviewing the final results. If there was a mistake just let me know. This does happen with having to deduct times in addition to the normal timing that is done for the race and trying to get it done quickly to give awards following the race. Toolen's Running Start does an amazing job at what they do. Thanks again for your continued support of Special Olympics Illinois.

I want to take time to thank everyone who has participated, sponsored, volunteered, or had any part to do with my 5K over the last 11 races (12 years due to COVID). You all have made this fun, memorable, and worth all of the work that goes into it. I truly appreciate all of it and all the funds we have been able to provide to Special Olympics Illinois due to your involvement. It’s been a wild ride of learning and growing. I will truly miss hosting this race and being able to meet everyone involved with it.

Later tonight after my kiddo’s birthday party I’ll post the award places for those who were unable to stay as well as more photos. Toolen’s Running Start will provide me the full results later this week and I will get those posted as soon as I have them.

If you were unable to stay for the awards or registered, but were unable to show up I will be contacting you Monday to get your award or shirt from the race.

Thanks again and keep being awesome people!

-Trent

It is that time of year again where agencies across the state participate in the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run as agencies carry the flame of hope as travels to Illinois State University for the 2026 Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games. We are especially excited to support the many outstanding athletes from Region J who have qualified to compete.

The Collinsville Police Department is proud to participate in this year's Torch Run on Tuesday, June 9th, at approximately 10:00 a.m. Officers will carry the Flame of Hope from the Collinsville Police Department, down Main Street, north on Illinois Route 159/Vandalia Street, before passing the torch to the Maryville Police Department as it continues its journey toward the Summer Games.

We're also proud to have the longest leg of the Torch Run in our area. We’re not saying that makes us the best participating agency... but we’re also not saying it doesn’t. Coincidence? Probably. Evidence? Maybe. Either way, we’ll be carrying the torch a little farther than everyone else and will gladly accept any completely unofficial bragging rights that come with it.

We invite our community to come out along the route, cheer on the runners, and help celebrate the athletes who inspire us all through their dedication, perseverance, and competitive spirit.

🥶💙 Polar Plunge Recap! 💙🥶

Back in February—when it was definitely not this warm, sunny weather—we took the plunge… and it was COLD, COLD! ❄️

Members of the Collinsville Police Department, along with family and friends, braved the icy waters at both the Collinsville Dumpster Plunge and the Carlyle Lake Polar Plunge—all for an incredible cause.

💪 Thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and supported, together these two plunges raised over $100,000 for Special Olympics Illinois! ❤️

And yes… 👀 that was Chief Boerm in those amazing pink swim trunks leading the way into the plunge! Now that’s leadership! 💗👏

From freezing temps to freezing water, it was all worth it to support such amazing athletes and programs. We couldn’t have done it without this awesome community!

👏 Great job to everyone who took the plunge—you earned those towels (and maybe some hot chocolate too ☕😉)!
