Last week, CVFC firefighters participated in a vehicle rescue drill with Fire Department of Montgomery Township. Firefighters worked on stabilization with use of junk yard dogs and paratech struts, along with using battery operated cutters, spreaders to remove vehicle doors and roofs.

This National Volunteer Week, we proudly recognize and thank the dedicated Volunteers of Colmar Volunteer Fire Company.

For generations, our volunteers have answered the call without hesitation, giving their time, energy, and often putting themselves in harm’s way to protect our community. Their commitment goes far beyond emergency response, it’s built on brotherhood, service, sacrifice, and pride.

Because of their hard work and unwavering dedication, Colmar Volunteer Fire Company stands strong today as a pillar of the community. Every call answered, every drill completed, and every act of service has helped shape what this company has become.

We are grateful for all of you, not just this week, but every single day!

Happy National Volunteer Week.

This evening, members attended a landing zone class presented by JeffSTAT Critical Care Transport. Members learned helicopter basics, as well as landing zone setup and safety.

Unfortunately, the class was cut short due to a critical care transport request, but just like us - when the call comes in, we answer it.

Special thanks to Jefferson Health and JeffSTAT for this training opportunity!
