Colo Fire and Rescue

Colo Fire and Rescue Providing Fire and EMS protection to Colo Iowa and surrounding communities We also mutual aid several surrounding communities for extrication.

We are a Volunteer Fire and EMS Department of around 30 members in the small community of Colo, Iowa . We cover the town of Colo, as well as the townships of Sherman and New Albany for fire, EMS and auto extrication. As well as providing education for fire prevention and safety to our community.

Hy-vee came prepared and will be ready to serve early! Come down as early as 445 and get some Chinese!

Mark your calendars for August 17th! Hy-vee was so impressed with the turnout for our rib fundraiser that they asked to come back! This time they are bringing Hy-chi. They will be serving up 2 entree meals with rice or noodles and an appetizer for $12. Come down and feed the fam, support Colo Fire, and get some delicious Hy-vee chinese!

Tomorrow is the day! Ragbrai will be rolling through town tomorrow. They anticipate the highest volume of riders between 12-4. Colo Fire members will be selling pickles and pickle juice shots along with staffing the first aid tent. Please allow extra time to travel through Story County tomorrow and exercise patience! Colo Fire members will be at the highlighted locations on the map below. All Colo FD members will be wearing bright orange shirts so we are easy to spot!
