🥚🚀 **THE EGGS HAVE LANDED!** 🚀🥚

Yesterday, the Colona Fire Department got to assist some of our finest young scientists at Colona Grade School for their annual **Egg Drop Challenge!**

Our crew brought out the ladder truck to give these creative contraptions the ultimate test from high above. We saw some incredible engineering—from parachutes and bubble wrap to some truly unique padding designs.

There were some spectacular splats, but we also had a ton of survivors! We are always so proud to support our local schools and see the brilliant minds of our community in action.

Huge thanks to the students and staff for having us out. Keep innovating, Trojans! 🧑‍🔬🚒

Winds gusting up to 30 mph combined with warm temperatures and low humidity levels will create an elevated fire risk today. Humidity levels of 25 to 35 percent will be seen this afternoon in spite of the recent green up. Avoid or delay any burning today.

Lots of training action at our Green River Road Station #3 today as we host the IFSI Regional Cadet Explorer training day. These young men and women coming from all over the state are tomorrow’s firefighters. Thank you 1800BoardUp for providing water, gatorade, and wood supplies. Thank you to all the volunteers and mentors for making this event happen again this year!

Some of our Firefighters and Cadets are completing their final night of EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) class tonight! They have been going to class after work and/or after school 2 nights a week for the last 3 months. Special Thanks to Lead Instructor Capt Kait Meeker. CONGRATULATIONS BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

Sirens were set off in error when getting paged out for an EMS call again. There is no weather event to be concerned about at this time. We are running off a backup paging system since water tower valve failure a few weeks ago until a replacement part arrives. Unfortunately very easy to do by mistake with the backup paging system from our dispatch center in Cambridge. Again there is no weather event to be concerned about at this time.
