The closure of the Tyson Foods plant in Joslin is affecting families across the Quad Cities, including right here in our Colona Community. To our residents who worked at the facility, we know this is a difficult and unexpected transition.

🚨 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY 🚨

The Colona Fire Department in partnership with the City of Colona is excited to share that we have secured a state grant from the State of Illinois to purchase three brand-new Outdoor Warning Sirens & Mass Notification Systems!

These new sirens will be installed at each of our three fire stations, tripling our warning area coverage and significantly enhancing public safety across our community.

While the grant covers the purchase of the sirens, we are currently seeking local businesses and community partners to help support the installation costs. The installation costs are estimated to be about $33k. We have already received some donations.

By becoming a partner, your support directly contributes to keeping Colona families, neighborhoods, visitors, and businesses safe during critical emergencies.

1. Donations can be sent to Colona Fire Department PO Box 110 Colona, IL 61241. 2.Donations can dropped off at Station 1 to any firefighter when firefighters are there.
3. Donations can be dropped off at Colona City Hall during business hours 8-4.
4. Donations can be dropped off at Colona Police Department during business hours 8-4.

Your donations could qualify for a tax deduction through our 501(C)(3).
