Today we celebrate an incredible milestone for Laura Lamantia, Administrative Secretary for the Colona Police Department, on her 32nd work anniversary!

For more than three decades, Laura has been a dedicated and dependable presence within the Police Department and throughout our community. Her commitment, professionalism, and loyalty are truly immeasurable. Whether assisting department staff, helping residents, or serving as a valuable resource for city operations, Laura consistently goes above and beyond.

As the City’s longest-serving employee, Laura carries with her a wealth of knowledge, experience, and history that cannot be replaced. Her years of service have helped shape the department and the community we know today.

Thank you, Laura, for your 32 years of dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to the City of Colona. We are grateful for all that you have done and continue to do each day.

The Colona Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the Muscatine community and all those affected by yesterday’s tragic events.

No family should ever have to endure such a heartbreaking loss, and no first responder should have to witness or navigate the unimaginable circumstances that incidents like this present.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their loved ones, and the entire community during this difficult time.
We also want to recognize the officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and all first responders who answered the call and provided assistance under extraordinarily challenging circumstances.

Please keep everyone impacted by this tragedy in your thoughts as they begin the difficult road ahead. 💙

🇺🇸 As another Colona Memorial Day weekend comes to a close, we would like to thank our Officers for their hard work and dedication throughout the carnival, parade, and weekend festivities.

During this busy holiday weekend, it is truly all hands on deck. Most time off requests are not granted and many of our Officers sacrifice time with their own families in order to help keep yours safe while you enjoy the traditions that make Colona so special.

While many only see the fun and celebration, there are countless operational plans and safety measures happening behind the scenes — especially for the parade route and large gatherings.
From traffic control and emergency response planning to preparing for any possible scenario, a tremendous amount of coordination goes into ensuring these events remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Our main focus and priority will always be protecting our community and preserving these family traditions in a safe environment for all.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate respectfully and safely.

We hope you enjoyed a beautiful Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. 🇺🇸

Today, 10 lucky students were surprised with FREE wristbands to the Colona Memorial Day Carnival! 🎉🙌

The excitement was priceless as SRO Armstrong, Detective Hull, Officer Piehl, and Sgt. Welsh helped present the wristbands to the students today! 👏💚💛

A huge THANK YOU to Wilson Family Show for generously donating the free passes and helping create some unforgettable memories for our students. Your kindness and community support are truly appreciated! 🎠🎢
