The Colona Police Department is seeking applicants to establish a lateral hiring list for full-time Police Officer positions.

We are specifically seeking Illinois-certified police officers who are interested in becoming part of our department and serving the Colona community.

If you are an Illinois-certified officer looking for an opportunity to join the Colona Police Department, we encourage you to submit an application.

At last night’s Colona City Council meeting, Richard Ramsay Jr. was sworn in as a Colona Police Officer by Mayor Brian Johnson.
Officer Ramsay is a Geneseo High School graduate and a lifelong resident of Colona.
Officer Ramsay will begin his 16 week police training at Sauk Valley Police Academy on August 31.
Thank you Officer Ramsay for raising your hand to serve and protect the citizens of Colona. We wish you luck at the academy.

A Special Touch of Pride 💙

We are proud to share a special addition to the Colona Police Department.

Sgt. Welsh had badge-number plaques made for our officers and civilian employees—a thoughtful way to recognize the unique role each member of our department plays in serving our community.

These plaques were handmade with care by retired Illinois State Trooper Bill Francis. We truly appreciate the time, craftsmanship, and personal touch that went into creating each one.

Thank you, Bill, for helping us create something our department members can proudly display.
And thank you, Sgt. Welsh, for this thoughtful gesture of appreciation for the men and women of the Colona Police Department. 💙👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

🙏The Colona Police Department sends our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Muscatine police officer who was shot in the line of duty while serving and protecting his community.

Our hearts are with him, his family, his brothers and sisters in blue, and the entire Muscatine community during this incredibly difficult time. We pray for strength, healing, comfort, and a full recovery.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder of the sacrifice every law enforcement officer makes each time they put on the uniform. They leave their families at home, never knowing what the shift ahead may bring, and step forward to protect our families, our neighborhoods, and our communities.

Behind every badge is a person who is someone’s spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend and loved one—and a family that waits for them to come home safely.

🥵🔥 Oh, what a night! 🔥

It sure was a hot one at the Colona Police Department’s National Night Out, but what an incredible evening!

A heartfelt thank you to all of our generous sponsors and donors. Your support allows this event to remain completely FREE for our community year after year.

It was wonderful to see so many residents, businesses, and organizations come together to create such a fun and memorable evening for families.
