Yesterday evening, after a busy day, members of Fuller Road VFD, conducted a pump operations and hoseline basics training as practice for newer members and a refresher for veteran firefighters!

Earlier today, Fuller Road VFD, along with mutual aid from Colonie Village FD, responded to a house that had been struck by a car. The driver is thought to have suffered a medical emergency leading to the crash. One person was transported to the hospital and all units returned to service shortly before 4:00pm.

Yesterday our Brothers & Sisters in the Menands Fire Dept. suffered a terrible setback when their fire station caught fire, heavily damaging the building, fire apparatus and equipment. We say “setback” because we know the membership will pull together, along with the support of all the fire departments in the town and across the Capital District. Brotherhood is not a word used idly in the fire service and it will be on full display as Menands FD regroups, rebuilds and comes back stronger with the support of all its Brothers and Sisters from the Town of Colonie and surrounding areas.

On International Firefighter’s Day, the members of the Fuller Road Volunteer Fire Dept. want our community to know what an honor it is for the men, women and youth of this department, to serve proudly and protect your lives and property. 2026 is our 100th anniversary of doing so and we hope to continue, with your support, long into the future!

Tonight Fuller Road VFD practiced close quarters aerial work! Operating in a tight space, safely, requires teamwork, placement, precision, patience and PRACTICE! Tonight we were able to practice several evolutions to hone our skills! Thank you to the management and residents of Town Towers for having us!
