Yesterday our members spent the day at the Hometown Hero tent at the Altamont Fair. Dozens and dozens of families were able to tour our firetruck and learn a few fire safety tips. Members were also able to jump on a ride or two and enjoy the fair. Keep an eye out for our Open House coming up in October. YOU could swing by our station and learn more about this event. Maybe it will spark a fire in you! We hope to see you at the fair next year. 😉🚒

The Midway Fire Department is currently keeping a close eye on the sky. We are hearing that we could be expecting a storm to move in with a good amount of lightning tonight. Just a quick reminder that for any emergency needs from us (basement pump out, house struck by lightning, fire, etc.) please call 9-1-1 so our entire department can properly be dispatched. Do not call the firehouse. We are a volunteer agency, so we cannot answer the phone 24/7. We are thankful for our Town of Colonie Dispatchers for their help with that. As for this evening we are ready to respond!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Albany Fire Department. Yesterday afternoon an Albany FD Batallion Chief and a DGS employee were badly injured due to an explosion. We wish everyone a speedy recovery. 🙏
