This restaurant decided to include a 50% tip on my bill because I told the server that the service wasn’t great. She neglected my table for almost 30 minutes walked past me multiple times and when I finally flagged her down she was rude.

So I subtracted the tip from the bill. If she thinks she’s getting a dime from me she’s not very smart.

Looking for some opinions on this hot tub support structure.

I hired a contractor to build it specifically for an 8-person hot tub, but during the project he seemed a little uncertain about whether it would comfortably handle the full load. With water, the tub, and several adults, we're talking roughly 8,500 pounds.

It's been in place for about six months without any obvious issues, but before I put it into service as part of a rental property, I'd like some honest feedback. Does this look like something you'd trust long-term?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?? I left my car in a handicap spot for literally FIVE MINUTES and come back to see it already up on a tow truck. FIVE. MINUTES. That’s it. Whoever called this in must have been sitting there staring out the window just WAITING to ruin someone’s day.

Now theyre going to expect me to pay a ridiculous tow fee because someone decided they needed to play parking lot police. Absolutely unbelievable. Some people seriously have NOTHING better to do than make life harder for everyone else. I hope whoever reported it is happy, this is beyond ridiculous.

Someone needs to pay for this!!!

I’m honestly pretty frustrated right now. 😤🚗💨

I was backing out of a parking space at the grocery store like normal when a guy in a modified sports car came blasting through the lot like he was qualifying for a race.

The engine was screaming.

The tires chirped.

And he flew past so fast that I genuinely had to slam on the brakes because I never expected someone to be moving at that speed in a parking lot.

What really bothered me wasn’t just the speed.

It was the complete lack of consideration.

People were walking to their cars.

Families were unloading groceries.

Shopping carts were everywhere.

Yet this guy acted like everyone else was supposed to magically get out of his way.

I honestly don’t understand it.

A parking lot isn’t a racetrack.

A neighborhood isn’t a racetrack.

And making as much noise as possible doesn’t somehow make it safer or more impressive.

It just creates situations where somebody gets hurt because one person decided the rules didn’t apply to them.

Maybe I’m overreacting.

But if you’re driving through an area full of pedestrians and parked cars, slowing down seems like a pretty reasonable expectation.

Am I the only one who feels like people are driving way more aggressively lately? 🤔

I AM ABSOLUTELY FUMING. I hired a highly-rated "texture specialist" off a local community board to finish our guest room, and this is the absolute garbage he walked away from. I paid $2,400 for a smooth, paint-ready surface. Instead, I am staring at a stucco crime scene. There are literally vertical stripes where he entirely missed the wall, leaving the ugly gray backing completely exposed to the naked eye!

I confronted the owner this morning about the giant, uneven white splatters bleeding onto my ceiling. He had the nerve to completely brush me off and call the massive gaps "dimensional shadowing." DIMENSIONAL SHADOWING?? Sir, this is a residential home, not an avant-garde art gallery! My wife is furious, and I am supposed to start priming this disaster tomorrow.

He is demanding I wire the remaining balance by noon or he is taking me to small claims court. Would you stop payment and report this scammer, or am I overreacting to this "industry standard" vandalism??

Main gas pipe being replaced on our lane and as a domestic gas engineer I feel I should know what these are, but I have no clue. I’m assuming these have been unearth deliberately.
Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Tonight, I got a $1 tip on a $262 dinner. 😞🍽️

Not because the guests were angry.

Not because the service was bad.

Not because anything went wrong.

They genuinely thought the 20% service charge on the bill was already my tip.

And honestly?

That's becoming one of the most frustrating realities of working in restaurants today.

The problem isn't always the customer.

The problem is that nobody seems to know what these charges actually mean anymore.

Some restaurants give service charges to staff.
Some split them.
Some use them for operating costs.
Some put them toward benefits or support teams.

And in many places—including mine—that service charge never goes directly into the server's pocket.

So after hours of:

🥤 Refilling drinks
🍴 Timing every course
⚠️ Managing allergies and special requests
😊 Answering questions
🔥 Fixing problems before guests even notice them
..you open the check presenter and see:

Tip: $1.00

Then comes the awkward part.

Writing a note that says:

"Service charge does not go to staff ❤️"

Think about that for a second.

We've reached a point where servers feel like they need disclaimers attached to receipts just to explain how they're paid.

And the hardest part?

Most customers aren't trying to be rude.

Most aren't trying to shortchange anyone.

Many honestly believe they've already tipped fairly.

That's what makes the whole situation so exhausting.

Customers feel confused.

Servers feel defeated.

And restaurants keep creating systems that leave both sides frustrated and uncomfortable.

One bad tip isn't what wears you down.

It's seeing the same confusion happen over and over again until nobody seems sure where the money is actually going anymore.

At some point, transparency shouldn't be optional.

Because customers deserve to know what they're paying for.

And workers deserve a system that doesn't leave their income up to guesswork. 💭

Have you ever seen a service charge on a bill and assumed it was the tip? 👇

I walked into a restaurant recently and saw a sign that immediately made me question everything. 😳

It said:

“Customers may only remain seated if all members of the party continue ordering.”

So let me get this straight…

If I finish my meal…

My wife finishes her meal…

And we just want to sit there and talk for a little while…

We’re expected to keep buying things? 😭💀

Maybe another appetizer.

Maybe dessert.

Maybe more drinks.

Otherwise we’re basically being told our table time is over.

And honestly?

That felt less like hospitality and more like renting space by the hour.

I completely understand restaurants need turnover.

I understand they need revenue.

But seeing a sign that essentially says:

“Keep spending money or move along”

completely changed the vibe before I even sat down.

Am I overreacting…

or would that rub you the wrong way too? 🤔🍽️

Is $693.55 reasonable for spark plugs and ignition coils on a 2018 Honda Accord?

I got this estimate for replacing 4 spark plugs and 4 ignition coils on my 2018 Honda Accord, and I’m trying to figure out if this is actually fair or if the first quote I got was way too high.

This invoice breaks it down as:

NGK spark plugs: 4 × $18.75 = $75.00
Ignition coils: 4 × $95.00 = $380.00
Shop supplies: $24.95
Labor: $180.00
Tax: $33.60
Total: $693.55

Compared to the other quote I saw for plugs and coils, this one seems way more reasonable, but I still wanted to ask before assuming.

Does $693.55 sound normal for plugs and coils on an Accord, or is there still anything here that looks off?

To the Amazon driver who decided my flower bed was the perfect place to leave a package, you are doing way too much. 😭📦🌷

There is a perfectly good front porch.

A perfectly good set of steps.

And an actual package box sitting right next to the front door.

Yet somehow my delivery ended up shoved between my landscaping plants like it was hiding from the law.

I know some people are going to say:

“It’s just a package.”

“It’s not that serious.”

“You still got your delivery.”

But that’s not really the point.

The point is basic respect for somebody else’s property.

I spend time and money keeping those flower beds looking nice.

They’re not storage shelves.

They’re definitely not package lockers.

And now I’ve got crushed plants and a muddy footprint sitting right in the middle of everything because somebody couldn’t take ten extra seconds to walk to the porch.

I appreciate getting my package.

I really do.

But if you’re representing a major delivery company, using the actual delivery area seems like a pretty reasonable expectation.

Am I overreacting…

or would finding a package tossed into your landscaping bother you too? 😅
