We have canceled the endangered persons advisory that was issued on behalf of the Yates Center Police Department. Tava Glover was located safe in Oklahoma, and is now with family. Thank you for your assistance.

The KBI has issued an endangered persons advisory, on behalf of the Yates Center Police Department, for a missing Yates Center woman.

The whereabouts of 44-year-old Tava Glover are unknown, and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate her.

Glover last made contact with her family on Tuesday, Aug. 4, when she was expected to be driving home to Yates Center from Kansas City. She is believed to be driving a 2016 white Lincoln MKZ bearing Kansas tag 9261AGM.

Tava is a white female who is approximately 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighs around 174 pounds. She has light brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities believe she may have traveled in Pittsburg, Kansas, Miami, Oklahoma, and Ottawa, Kansas since Tuesday.

Tava has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition and is without necessary medication.

If you see Tava Glover, or her vehicle, call 911 immediately. If you have other information about her whereabouts, please call the Yates Center Police Department at 620-625-8640.

Big things are happening! The new Everbridge notification system will soon replace the old CodeRED system, giving both Anderson County and the City of Colony/Colony City Marshal the ability to send notifications that are important to us right here in Colony—from severe weather and utility outages to law enforcement and other public safety information. Training for super users, including myself, starts tomorrow, with public training sessions noted in the attached flyer.

A big thank you to Sarah at Anderson County Kansas Fire and Emergency Management for all her hard work getting this system up and running. Better communication helps keep our communities safe!

Good morning, everyone. Unfortunately, the gas pumps in Colony are acting up again.

There was a small window where the north side was working for some customers but not for others. As of today, it appears both sides are still not working properly.

I contacted MFA again this morning, and they have a work order in for a technician to come to Colony and inspect the pumps. I don’t have an estimated arrival time yet, but they’re supposed to call me this morning with an update. As soon as I know more, I’ll pass it along.

As of 0600 this morning, the gas pumps in Colony should be back online. 🙌🏼

Just a quick update regarding the gas pumps in Colony.

I contacted the after-hours number today, and they were not aware there was an issue with the pumps. I’m not sure if anyone has called the number posted on the pump to report it, or if there’s simply a disconnect and their technicians only work Monday through Friday. I did have a resident tell me that after attempting to use the pump, she was unable to cancel her card out of the machine. If this happened to you as well, I recommend keeping a close eye on any bank or credit card accounts connected to that card for any unauthorized transactions. It would also be a good idea to contact MFA in Garnett during regular business hours tomorrow to report the issue. I’ll pass along any updates as I receive them.
