On June 9, 2026, Colorado City Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Business 20 and FM 1983. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and determined the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle for further investigation. During the Officer’s investigation, the driver gave consent to search the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, Officers located a baggie containing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1B 1G

Colorado City PD will be conducting our monthly outdoor warning siren test today at 12:00 PM. If you hear the sirens, there is no emergency. This is just a routine check to ensure they're working properly.

On May 26, 2026, a Colorado City Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 Block of Chestnut. As the Officer approached the vehicle, the male driver exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away from the scene. The Officer detained the male subject at the time. A search of the male subject resulted in Officers finding a plastic baggie that contained methamphetamine. Officers also located drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle.

The male subject was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1 1 < 4 Grams, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This Memorial Day, the Colorado City Police Department pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for those who gave their lives defending our country. As we enjoy the freedoms we have today, we must remember they came at a great price.

We encourage our community to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes and the families they left behind. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.

On May 18, 2026, Colorado City Dispatch received multiple 911 calls stating that there was a fight in progress in the 1600 Block of S. Highway 208. Officers arrived on scene and began investigating the incident. During the investigation, Officers discovered that one female had arrived to fight another female. During the fight, one female pulled out a gun and displayed it in a threatening manner.

The female was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

All arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On May 19, 2026, Colorado City Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2300 Block of Hickory. Officers made contact with the driver and the passenger of the vehicle and during the investigation, both were asked to exit the vehicle.

K9 Myla was requested to the traffic stop to perform an open-air sniff of the vehicle. K9 Myla alerted positively to the vehicle. A probable cause search of the passenger revealed that the passenger had a baggie in his mouth that he had attempted to swallow. Officers were able to retrieve the baggie and identified the substance in the baggie to be methamphetamine.

The passenger was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 1 < 4 Grams and Tampering with Evidence.

All arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

This week we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their service and dedication will never be forgotten.
