🧠💚 National PTSD Awareness Day | June 27 💚🧠

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) doesn’t just impact adults—it deeply affects our youth too. Nearly 5% of adolescents meet the criteria for PTSD, and youth exposed to community violence, abuse, or unstable home environments are at even greater risk.

At Dragonfly Landing Family Services, we stand with youth and families navigating the lasting effects of trauma. PTSD in young people can look like anxiety, outbursts, withdrawal, or difficulty focusing—and it’s not just a phase. It’s a call for support, compassion, and healing.

✨ You are not alone.
✨ Help is always available.
✨ Healing is possible.

📞 If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call or text the 24/7 Crisis Line: 988

🌍 The world feels heavy right now. And that’s okay to admit. 💬

From violence and division to rising costs and everyday uncertainty, it’s no wonder so many of us—especially our youth—are feeling overwhelmed.

💡 1 in 3 adolescents in the U.S. will experience an anxiety disorder by the age of 18.
💡 More than 40 million adults live with anxiety—but less than 40% receive treatment.
💡 Anxiety often shows up differently in families: sleepless nights, irritability, stomachaches, withdrawal… It’s not weakness. It’s a sign we’re carrying too much.

✨ At Dragonfly Landing, we remind families: you don’t have to carry it alone.
We can’t fix the world in one day—but we can care for our corner of it. Take a breath. Drink some water. Go for a walk. Hold your child a little closer. Call a friend. Be gentle with yourself.

📞 Need support? You’re not alone. Call or text the 24/7 Crisis Line: 988

You are doing the best you can, and that matters.

💫 Before you go to bed tonight… read this. 💫

You. Are. Enough.
Not because of what you did today.
Not because of how productive you were.
Not because you held it all together.

You are enough simply because you exist.

🌟 More than 1 in 5 youth struggle with their mental health.
🌟 Over 40 million adults live with anxiety each year.
🌟 And too many people—young and old—go to bed feeling like they didn’t do enough.

If that’s you tonight, hear this:
You are not too much.
You are not behind.
You are not alone.

📞 Need someone to talk to? Call or text 988 – the 24/7 Crisis Line.

At Dragonfly Landing, we see the weight people carry—at every age. Whether you're navigating school, parenting, work, healing, or just trying to make it through the day… you're doing the best you can.

And that is enough.

You are loved. You are needed. You are enough.

☀️🌻 Hello Summer, Hello Healing 🌿🌞
Today marks the first day of summer and the summer solstice — the longest day of the year and a beautiful reminder that light always returns.

At Dragonfly Landing Family Services, we embrace this season as a time of growth, restoration, and renewed connection for the youth and families we serve.

🧠 Mental Health Matters in Every Season
📊 Nearly 1 in 5 youth experience a mental health disorder, yet most go untreated.
📊 Family stressors, like housing instability, trauma, or financial strain, increase during the summer when school supports disappear.
📊 Positive summer activities — like time outdoors, structure, and social connection — are proven to reduce anxiety and depression in both children and parents.

That’s why Dragonfly Landing offers safe, supportive spaces where young people can build resilience, find joy, and connect with community — all summer long.

🌞 As the sun stands still today, we invite you to pause, breathe deep, and lean into the possibility of healing — for yourself, your family, and our collective future.

Let the light in. Let the healing begin.

🖤✨ Juneteenth is Liberation — in Spirit, Legacy, and Mental Health ✊🏾💚

At Dragonfly Landing Family Services, we know that healing is one of the most radical acts of freedom. As we honor Juneteenth, we also uplift the deep need to break generational cycles and invest in the mental wellness of Black families.

📊 Black families are less likely to access mental health support due to stigma, lack of representation, and historic distrust of healthcare systems.
📊 Over 63% of Black adults believe that a mental health condition is a sign of personal weakness — a harmful myth passed through generations.
📊 But when families are empowered to heal together, cycles of trauma can end — and cycles of joy can begin.

Freedom isn’t just physical — it’s emotional, psychological, and generational.
At Dragonfly Landing, we’re committed to walking with families as they reclaim their stories, find their voice, and build legacies of resilience and renewal.

🎉 Come celebrate with us at the Juneteenth Celebration at Concrete Couch
📍 1100 S Royer St | 🕓 4PM–8PM
We’ll be there with love, resources, and a reminder: healing is your birthright.

🖤❤️💚 Honoring Juneteenth: Freedom, Healing, and Forward Movement ✊🏽✨
At Dragonfly Landing Family Services, we honor Juneteenth not only as a historic milestone, but as a call to keep building spaces where freedom, justice, and healing are a reality for every Black child, family, and community.

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” — Maya Angelou

While we celebrate Black resilience and liberation, we must also acknowledge the emotional and mental toll of generational trauma, racism, and inequality on our Black youth.

🧠 Mental Health & Black Youth:
📊 Black youth under 18 are more likely to be diagnosed later or misdiagnosed when it comes to mental health conditions.
📊 Su***de rates among Black youth have increased by 60% over the past two decades.
📊 Only about 1 in 3 Black youth who need mental health services actually receive care.

At Dragonfly Landing, we’re working every day to break those barriers — by offering culturally responsive care, trauma-informed programming, and spaces where youth can be seen, heard, and supported on their healing journey.

This Juneteenth, we celebrate Black freedom in body, mind, and spirit — and recommit to building a future where all youth can thrive in wholeness, dignity, and joy.

🧺🌞 Happy National Picnic Day! 🌳🧃
At Dragonfly Landing Family Services, we believe healing doesn’t always happen indoors. Sometimes it happens over a blanket, under the sun, with good food and even better connection.

🌱 Nature is powerful medicine.
Did you know?
☀️ Just 20 minutes outside can lower stress hormones.
💚 Being in green spaces is linked to reduced anxiety and depression.
🧠 Time spent outdoors with others promotes social connection, which is vital to mental wellness — especially for youth and families facing tough times.

Whether it’s a quick lunch at the park or a full afternoon with your kids, picnics offer a chance to slow down, ground yourself, and just be present. No screens, no pressure — just peace.

Today, we encourage you to pack a snack, step outside, and celebrate the healing power of fresh air and human connection. You deserve it.

👔 Happy Father’s Day from Dragonfly Landing Family Services! 💙

Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who show up with love, strength, and presence — even when the path isn’t easy.

At Dragonfly Landing, we believe in honoring the whole person behind the role — and that means acknowledging the mental and emotional load many men carry quietly.

🧠 June is also Men’s Mental Health Month, and the statistics remind us why these conversations matter:
📊 1 in 10 men experience depression or anxiety — but less than half seek help.
📊 Men die by su***de nearly 4x more often than women.
📊 Fathers, especially those facing family stress, financial strain, or custody challenges, often feel isolated and overlooked.

You are not alone.
At Dragonfly Landing, we are here to support fathers in their healing journey — offering family services, parenting support, mental health resources, and spaces to reconnect with your purpose.

This Father’s Day, let’s celebrate the men who lead with love — and let’s work together to ensure they feel just as supported as they strive to be for others.

🌈 Pride Month at Dragonfly Landing: Honoring Identity, Protecting Mental Health 🧠💛

At Dragonfly Landing Family Services, we celebrate Pride Month by standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ youth and families. We see you. We support you. And we are here for you.

But Pride isn’t just parades and rainbows — it’s also about protecting our youth:

📊 LGBTQ+ youth are 4x more likely to attempt su***de than their non-LGBTQ+ peers.
📊 1 in 3 LGBTQ+ youth report being physically threatened or harmed due to their identity.
📊 Affirming, trauma-informed spaces like ours can drastically reduce these risks.

At Dragonfly Landing, we offer a safe, inclusive space where youth can heal, grow, and find community. Our programs are designed to support mental wellness, build resilience, and foster belonging — because no young person should feel like they’re in this alone.

💬 If your child or teen needs support, reach out.
💛 If you’re an ally, be vocal.
🌱 If you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, we celebrate YOU — this month and every day.

🌤️ Let’s Fly Together! 🪁🌈
Join Dragonfly Landing Family Services this Saturday from 10AM–2PM at the El Paso County Kite Festival at Falcon Regional Park!

We’re excited to celebrate community, resilience, and mental wellness—one kite at a time.

✨ Did you know?
🌿 Walking barefoot on grass (aka grounding) has been shown to reduce stress and improve mood.
☀️ Sunlight exposure boosts vitamin D, which helps fight depression and anxiety.
🪁 Flying kites promotes mindfulness, focus, and joy — perfect for calming a busy mind.

Mental health support doesn’t always happen in an office — sometimes, it looks like laughing in the sunshine, running with a kite, and feeling connected to something bigger.

Come say hi to the Dragonfly team, grab a resource bag, and enjoy a day of sunshine, smiles, and self-care!
