Mater Filius Colorado Springs pregnancy home is hiring a residential, overnight housemother, a part-time day housemother, as well as part-time and full-time childcare providers.

The overnight housemother must be a single mother or widow, who lives at the Mater Filius house, a practicing Catholic, experienced in household chores, and willing to be a loving coach and mentor to the mothers living there, as well as commanding a high sense of responsibility. Room and board are provided free of charge, with a fair monthly stipend. Daytime housemother needed one day a week and Saturdays from 7:30am - 4pm. Childcare providers and daytime housemother paid an hourly rate, based on experience and availability.

This Holy Week, as we walk with Jesus through His Passion, we remember a profound truth: a woman in labor draws close to the Cross of Christ. In her pain and self-giving love, she shares in His redemptive suffering.

Just as Jesus had to pass through the Passion to reach the joy of Easter morning, a mother must go through her own “passion” in labor to experience the beautiful Easter dawn of welcoming her child into the world.

At Mater Filius, we walk beside courageous mothers who choose life amid hardship. Their “yes” echoes Mary’s fiat and reflects the sacrificial love of Our Lord.

“A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” (John 16:21)

Join the 40 Days for Life Jericho March

Just like the Israelites marched around Jericho until the walls fell, we’re marching in faith for the end of abortion and the beginning of a culture of life!

FULL 7-DAY MARCH: March 23–29 FINAL MARCH: Saturday, March 29 at 3:00 PM

Here’s how we do it:
Days 1–6 – Walk around your own neighborhood once a day and pray for these powerful intentions:
✅ Day 1 (3/23) – Pregnant mothers and the fathers of their babies
✅ Day 2 (3/24) – Abortion workers and those who promote abortion
✅ Day 3 (3/25) – Post-abortive women and men
✅ Day 4 (3/26) – Our leaders to stand up against abortion
✅ Day 5 (3/27) – Parents forced into abortion and children who are trafficked
✅ Day 6 (3/28) – An abortion-free city, state, country, and world
Day 7 (March 29) – We gather together on the Centennial sidewalk near Planned Parenthood at 3:00 PM.

St. Paul middle school students are working on a very special service project for Lent We have adopted a mom from Mater Filius who will be moving into her own home with her two children at the beginning of April.

A list of all the needs of Taelor and future graduate moms was sent home via Sign Up Genius. The generosity is heart warming.
