At Mater Filius, our home runs largely through the generosity of volunteers, and there are many ways to serve — big and small.

Current needs include:
• Evening Dinner Volunteer
• Child Enrichment Program Volunteer
• Enrichment Program Babysitter
• Workshop Babysitter (18+)
• Graduate Breakfast Atrium Assistant
• Babysitter (various times)
• Doula Volunteer
•Tutor
•Clinician

These roles help moms rest, attend appointments or classes, and know their little ones are being lovingly cared for.

The USCCB has announced a Nationwide Invitation to Prayer & Action.

“From August 18 through the end of October, Respect Life Month, the USCCB Committee on Pro Life Activities is inviting Catholics to join a focused effort of prayer and action to stop the spread of abortion pills. In addition to invoking the intercession of St. Joseph, Defender of Life, participants can learn about the danger of abortion pills, and can send messages to pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies that are involved.”

Every child is a gift.

This story of a surrogate who refused abortion and sought care for a baby with a serious heart condition reminds us why we defend life with love—at every stage and in every circumstance. At Mater Filius we walk with moms who choose life and support them as they become independent. Please keep this little one and all our moms and babies in your prayers.

🌹 Monthly Rosary Walk at St. Gabriel’s 🌹

What a beautiful sight from yesterday! After the 12:00 noon Mass, our faithful community gathered for the monthly Rosary Walk, lifting up prayers right in front of our house. 🙏

Some of our staff and members of our community prayed together for all the mothers, babies, and families we serve at Mater Filius — especially for the little ones yet to be born and the courageous women carrying them. Moments like these remind us of the power of prayer and the strength of our Catholic community walking together in faith.

Huge thank you to everyone who included our home along with our greater community in your prayers.

Mater Filius Colorado Springs pregnancy home is hiring a residential, overnight housemother, a part-time day housemother, as well as part-time and full-time childcare providers.

The overnight housemother must be a single mother or widow, who lives at the Mater Filius house, a practicing Catholic, experienced in household chores, and willing to be a loving coach and mentor to the mothers living there, as well as commanding a high sense of responsibility. Room and board are provided free of charge, with a fair monthly stipend. Daytime housemother needed one day a week and Saturdays from 7:30am - 4pm. Childcare providers and daytime housemother paid an hourly rate, based on experience and availability.
