VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – LET'S HELP A FAMILY IN NEED!!!

WHEN: Saturday, October 24th
WHERE: Pueblo to Yoder, Colorado

The KENNA Foundation is rallying our community to help a local family facing some extraordinary challenges.

💪 WE NEED YOUR MUSCLE!

We're looking for strong, able-bodied volunteers willing to lend a few hours of their Saturday to help load and unload household furniture, boxes, and other belongings.

You don't need any special skills. Just a willingness to roll up your sleeves, work alongside others, and make a meaningful difference for a family who needs our support.

A few hours of your time could make an incredible difference in this family's life.

🙋 CAN YOU HELP?

Simply COMMENT BELOW if you're available on Saturday, October 24th! Our team will reach out to you directly with additional details and coordination information.

Even if you can't volunteer, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can!

Celebrating those who helped us celebrate others.

A very special thank you to our 2026 KENNA Awards Dinner Awards Sponsors: Apache Electric & Maintenance, Inc. and Anderson Designs!
This year's Awards Dinner was centered around recognizing the people who give so generously of their time, talents, and hearts to support The KENNA Foundation and the families we serve. Our Awards Sponsors helped us make that recognition possible.

Apache Electric & Maintenance, Inc. generously supported our volunteer awards and helped us create an evening where those who are usually behind the scenes had an opportunity to be celebrated.

Anderson Designs not only supported our awards, but Ashley also generously donated her time and talents to transform our presentation area. From the beautiful balloon arch to the purple ribbon marquee and finishing touches, she helped create a warm and welcoming space that made the evening feel truly special.

To both of these incredible local businesses: thank you for helping us celebrate the people who make our mission possible.

We are grateful for businesses that don't simply operate in our community, they show up for it.

Community makes it possible.

A heartfelt thank you to The Arc of the Pikes Peak Region, our Dinner Sponsor for the 2nd Annual KENNA Awards Dinner!

Their generous sponsorship helped make it possible for us to bring more than 50 members of our community together for an evening centered on something incredibly important to us; GRATITUDE.

We had the opportunity to celebrate the volunteers who give so generously of their time and talents, recognize some very special individuals who continually go above and beyond, share the impact of our work, and present the 2026 KENNA Grant.

Partnerships like this allow The KENNA Foundation to create meaningful opportunities to bring families, volunteers, businesses, and community organizations together, and we are incredibly grateful to have The Arc of the Pikes Peak Region standing alongside us.

To everyone at The Arc who helped make this evening possible: Thank you for investing in our community and helping us celebrate the people who make this work possible.

What an incredible evening. 💜

Last night, more than 50 members of our community came together for the 2nd Annual KENNA Awards Dinner, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us.

The evening was especially meaningful because September 23rd is MaKenna's birthday. The KENNA Foundation carries her name, and the work we do today continues in her memory. There was something incredibly special about spending her birthday surrounded by the volunteers, families, organizations, and friends who continue helping her legacy grow.

And, of course, no birthday celebration would be complete without two of MaKenna's favorites, mac & cheese and chocolate cake. 💜

Last night was, above all, about saying THANK YOU!

Thank you to the volunteers who give their time and talents so generously. Thank you to the businesses and organizations that support our work. Thank you to the families who trust us enough to allow us to be part of their lives. And thank you to every person who continues to believe in what The KENNA Foundation is working to build in our community.

We celebrated some extraordinary volunteers, recognized those who consistently go above and beyond, reflected on the impact of the KENNA Grant, and had the privilege of presenting the 2026 KENNA Grant to The Carl Edward Foundation.

But perhaps the most meaningful part of the evening was simply looking around the room and seeing so many people who have become part of the KENNA community.

The KENNA Foundation has never been about what one person or one organization can accomplish.

It's about what happens when a community comes together.

Thank you for being part of ours. 💜

💜 WE SEE YOU.

Sometimes disability looks different than people expect.

Sometimes, it can’t be seen at all.

It can look like ADHD, autism, sensory differences, communication challenges, or a child experiencing the world in a way others may never fully understand.

And sometimes, the person who needs to be seen isn’t the child with a disability at all.

It’s the sibling standing beside them.

The one who learns patience, compassion, flexibility, and independence far earlier than most children ever should. The one who loves fiercely, celebrates their brother or sister’s victories, and sometimes quietly learns to take up less space because someone else’s needs require so much of the family’s attention.

We see you, too.

Today, we see all of them.

Because these kids are not defined by a diagnosis, a disability, or a family circumstance.

They’re teammates.
They’re friends.
They’re competitors.
They’re kids.

And that’s what inclusion should look like.

A place where you don’t have to explain why you belong.
A place where differences don’t make you an outsider.
A place where you get to simply show up, play, laugh, compete, and be a kid.

That is why, as the team sponsor, The KENNA Foundation is so proud to stand beside these young athletes and their families.

Not simply by putting our name on a jersey.

But by investing in a community where every child has a place to belong.

Because KENNA was born from lived experience; from parents who know the complexity, exhaustion, uncertainty, advocacy, joy, heartbreak, and extraordinary love that comes with navigating life alongside developmental disability.

We know that behind every child is a family.
Behind every diagnosis is a story.
And behind every family is a need to be seen, heard, understood, and supported.

So we are weaving those stories and experiences together into something bigger, a community connected by a common thread of compassion, understanding, and action.

We don’t want families to simply survive the systems they’re forced to navigate.

We want them to have the opportunity to thrive.

Because sometimes breaking barriers doesn’t begin with changing a system.

Sometimes it begins with something much simpler:

Seeing the child.
Seeing the sibling.
Seeing the family.
And saying, “You belong here.”

💜 WE SEE YOU.

And we’re here.

Need medical supplies? Start with us. 💜

Did you know The KENNA Foundation maintains a Durable Medical Supply Closet for our community?

We know that medical supplies can be expensive, insurance doesn't always cover what someone needs, and sometimes families simply need something now.

Our supply closet includes donated medical supplies that we make available to community members who need them; regardless of the reason.

You don't have to be experiencing a crisis.
You don't have to prove financial hardship.
You don't have to explain why you need help.

If we have something you need, we want you to have it!

Our inventory changes constantly and may include things like nutrition and feeding supplies, incontinence products, wound-care supplies, g-tube supplies, and other medical necessities.

We are working hard to make this resource easier to access. Keep following us and watch for updates! We want you to be able to access what you need easily and keep usable medical supplies from ending up in the trash.

Need something from our supply closet? Send us a message! If we have it, it is here for you!!!

Pickup is available, and local delivery within El Paso County may be available. Supplies can also be shipped outside the area at the recipient's expense.

A quick note: Because of our limited storage space, we are currently able to accept medical supplies, but not durable medical equipment.

✨ Every superhero has a unique superpower... and this year's Reel Inclusion Car Show was filled with them. ❤️🕷️🚗

As we reflect on an incredible day, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for every volunteer, vendor, car show participant, cosplayer, sponsor, and community member who helped create an event where everyone belonged. You didn't just attend an event; you helped build a place where inclusion was celebrated, differences were embraced, and smiles were shared by people of all abilities.

There are two heroes we'd like to recognize in a special way.

🦸 Daniel Ruiz joined us as a young entrepreneur showcasing his incredible 3D-printed superhero creations. While his products were amazing, what impressed us even more was Daniel himself. His positive attitude, outstanding work ethic, genuine kindness, and ability to connect with everyone he met made a lasting impression. We are excited to watch his journey continue and look forward to partnering with him for many events to come.

🕷️ Mile High Spider Guy, Faith Newcomb, reminded us that the greatest superheroes don't need superpowers; they simply need a heart that inspires others. Faith radiated joy, confidence, and kindness throughout the day, proudly showing the beauty and uniqueness that comes with her extra chromosome. She didn't just wear the suit. She became a symbol of inclusion, reminding every child and adult she encountered that everyone deserves to be the hero of their own story. She wasn't just posing for pictures; she was slinging smiles, spreading hope, and creating unforgettable memories for our entire community.

To every volunteer who gave your time, every vendor who supported our mission, every car owner who proudly displayed your vehicle, every cosplayer who brought heroes to life, and every family who joined us…THANK YOU. You are the reason Reel Inclusion continues to grow into more than a car show. Together, we're building a community where everyone has a place, everyone is valued, and everyone can be the hero.

Because inclusion isn't just something we talk about...
It's something we create; TOGETHER. ❤️💙💛
