Pikes Peak Library District - Penrose Library Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is a nationally recognized system of public libraries.

Pikes Peak Library District offers many different resources for all ages and all walks of life. Not only do we offer the standard books, but we have a large selection of DVDs, Playaways, Books on CD, CD Music, online newspapers and journals, computer classes, and our CyberShelf. The Penrose Library also houses the law collection, the Regional History and Genealogy Department, and the El Pomar Non

Profit Resource Center. Outside of the 1905 Carnegie Library, we have the Carnegie Garden showcasing local plants and grasses.

Get ready for summer fun! The 2025 PPLD Summer Adventure presented by Friends of Pikes Peak Library District reading program kicks off on Mon., June 2 and once again is open to all ages. Read, explore, and create your way through the summer for a chance to earn prizes and beat the "summer slide." Registration starts Mon., June 2. Learn more at ppld.org/summer

Kids and teens can enjoy lunch (and books) at no cost this summer!

Colorado Springs School District 11 will bring their mobile unit to distribute lunches at East Library every weekday beginning Wed., May 28 through Fri., Aug. 1 (except for Fri., July 4). Meal service will be available 11 a.m. - noon, Monday - Friday, along with a basket of age-appropriate books from which kids and teens can take a book. Lunches are provided at no cost to kids and teens up to age 18. Adult lunches are available for $5.

May 28 - Aug. 1 (every weekday except Fri., July 4)
11 a.m. - noon

The Summer Food Service Program, funded by USDA, provides nutritious meals to all children and teens ages 0 - 18. There are no income or registration requirements for participation.
