Here is why Candace Necochea, D2 Teacher and Alumni chooses D2!

“If I were advising a teacher considering D2, I’d say this is a district where relationships genuinely matter. At D2 there is a strong sense of commitment to students, families, and one another. I’ve experienced support from colleagues and leadership that goes beyond surface-level initiatives and shows up in meaningful ways.
This district is especially important to me because I was once a student here, and my sister also served as a teacher in this district before she passed. Because of that connection, I see this place not just as a workplace, but as a community with a lasting impact. My history here shapes how I show up for students and why I continue to believe in the work we do here. My sister believed in Harrison D2 and I feel she would want me to continue her commitment here in D2.“

Jasmine Cowan shares why she chooses D2! “One thing leadership does here that actually matters is offer support for staff. Coming into my first year in D2, I was in a new world of a high rigor, in a well-staffed school. When the leadership at my school noticed things, I was struggling with, they brought them up in a non-judgmental way and asked what they could do to support me in those struggles. Having admin that offer support not criticism has made me a stronger educator and has made working in D2 the best teaching job!“ https://www.hsd2.org/join-our-team
