Academy District 20 Academy District 20 serves over 26,000 students at 40 schools in Colorado Springs.

D20 has been Accredited with Distinction by the state of CO for 18 years in a row and has some of the highest graduation rates in the state. Academy District 20 (ASD20) was founded in 1957 and serves more than 26,000 students at 40 schools in northern Colorado Springs. As the largest school district to be Accredited with Distinction from the state of Colorado for 15 years in a row, ASD20 has some of the highest graduation rates in the state.

The Board of Education for Academy School District 20 (ASD20) is accepting applications from those interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment on Sept. 8, 2026 until the next regular biennial school election on Nov. 2, 2027.

The Academy District 20 Board is conducting an open and transparent process that provides eligible members of the Academy District 20 community with an opportunity to be considered. Community members interested in serving on the Board are invited to submit an application during the application period, which ends on Aug. 21, 2026 at noon.

Our staff are ready to welcome students back, but first, a few more candids from our Back to School Rally! 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who beat the heat, brought the energy and joined us as we kicked off the year together. Now the classrooms are getting ready, the hallways are waiting and our incredible staff are prepared to make 2026-27 one to remember.
