Coronado Boy Scout Troop 53 posted flags for Veteran's Day.
Tonight was Coronado Boy Scout Troop 53's Court of Honor! The boys completed 31 Merit Badges gaining skills and knowledge from Wilderness Survival to Emergency Preparedness to Camping to Citizenship in the World. Amazing! Congratulations to Daniel earning his Life rank! Congratulations to Christian, Tyr, Andrew, Karston and Dakota on earning Second Class rank! What an accomplishment - congrats to all the boys!
Troop 53 would like to thank Ron Hardman, founder of Kilroy's Workshop, for supporting scouting and allowing the use of his site and tools, as well as mentoring Ian through completing his Eagle Project to build redwood benches to be used on Thomas MacLaren School’s soccer field. Thanks to all the volunteers and congrats again to Ian on a job well done!
Today was Ian McGrath's Eagle Project! Ian's project was building benches for Thomas MacLaren School's soccer field. Ian did an excellent job directing his volunteers. Way to go, Ian!
We're back!! Coronado Boy Scout Troop 53 is having a Troop meeting this Wednesday, September 30th outside in the courtyard of Coronado High School. Bring camp chairs to sit on, a mask and scouts should wear their Class A's.

We remember all those who gave their lives in sevice to our country. Boy Scouts in Troop 53 posted and retrieved flags in Kissing Camels Estates today while practicing safe social distancing. Thanks to the residents for supporting this troop activity and to the boys for their hard work.

However the Pikes Peak and Rocky Mountain Councils would like to invite all Packs, Troops, and Crews to join us for on our virtual campout. Set up camp in your backyard or in your living room and join for an evening under the stars! Don’t have a tent? Build your best fort in your living room. Links well be made available on Monday 4/6/2020 for you to log into and share your pictures, songs, skits, and more. Share with us your favorite S’more recipes or your favorite campfire snack!
Congratulations to brothers Bryce and Ethan Van Caster for earning the Pope Pius XII award! Special recognition goes to Ethan earning the pillar award for completing all four Scout Religious awards.

Troop 53 scouts and leaders are happy to be annual volunteers at the Bob Telmosse Foundation Christmas Giveaway to help Bob’s daughter, Jennifer Reinert McKeon, and her family carry on a very special tradition of giving back to the Colorado Springs community. Thanks to all the volunteers and merry Christmas!
We had a pleasant evening at Troop 53’s Family picnic. It was a good chance to enjoy the park before the weather turns cold.

Happy flag day! Today commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
Taps to close out our Court of Honor tonight.
Court of Honor also provides an opportunity to recognize Scouts who have been elected to new positions and Scouts who supported fund raising efforts such as Camp Card sales. We wrapped up with a Scout Master minute and Taps.
During Court of Honor tonight we recognized many Scouts who completed merit badges, such as Swimming and Geology, as well as one scout earning his Stand Up Paddle Boarding certificate.
Great night recognizing the achievements of our Scouts in Troop 53 at our Court of Honor. These boys advanced in rank. We have three new Life Scouts and two new Second Class Scouts. Congrats boys!!!

Last Troop swim night of the school year. Thankful to Coronado High School for the use of their pool. Time to plan some summer camping dates!
Troop 53 has made participating in the The Bob Telmosse' Foundation’s Christmas Giveaway an annual troop tradition. Thanks to Jennifer Reinert McKeon, Bob’s daughter, for posing with our Scouts. We appreciate the giving spirit her father fostered in our community and thankful to her family for continuing the legacy.
