The Colorado Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) at Mt. Carmel is launching the Colorado Veteran Business Survey to better understand the experiences, challenges, and opportunities facing military-connected entrepreneurs across our state.

We're asking veteran business owners, transitioning service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses to share their experiences.

Your input will help us understand:

→ Access to capital
→ Workforce and hiring
→ Government contracting
→ Business growth
→ Technology and AI adoption
→ Resource gaps
→ The opportunities we should be pursuing next

This isn't just a survey. Your responses will help shape the programs, partnerships, and priorities we develop going forward.

Take the survey: https://lnkd.in/gGBqv6vg

If you're a veteran or military-connected entrepreneur in Colorado, please take a few minutes to participate and share this post with another business owner who should have a voice.

Tomorrow!

The Operator's Guide to AI: Decisions, Systems and Strategy

Join Lane Belone, a former U.S. Army Green Beret, author, and founder of
Side Quest HQ, for practical AI for owners running the work.

This session is for veteran operators who want to put AI to work while keeping the judgment and voice that built their business. Practical from the first minute.

Most AI classes hand you a list of fifty tools and send you home busier than you came. This one goes the other way.

Two hours, four focused topics, and a simple rhythm: Lane shares the concept, you take five minutes to map it to your own business, then Q&A on the topic.

You leave with four experiments you can run this month, sized to wherever you are today.

Location: 559 E. Pikes Peak Ave., #101 COS 80903
Date: August 26, 2026
Time: 2 PM - 4 PM

-- Colorado Artist Company Act --

Colorado’s Artist Company Act creates a new type of LLC designed specifically for creative professionals and artistic enterprises.

Among other provisions, it allows artists to maintain majority voting ownership, establish an artistic mission, protect intellectual property, share ownership with collaborators, and separate economic interests from governance and control.

Artists, musicians, designers, filmmakers, photographers, writers, craftspeople, and performers are entrepreneurs, too.

They create intellectual property, build businesses, employ people, attract investment, generate economic activity, and contribute to the identity and vitality of their communities.

Effective economic-development policy should not always require entrepreneurs to fit into structures designed for entirely different industries.

Sometimes, creating room for new business models and new forms of ownership can open the door to different kinds of economic opportunity.

That is what makes Colorado’s A-Corp an interesting development to watch.
Like any new approach, implementation will matter.

Questions about valuing creative work, protecting intellectual property, attracting investment, and turning artistic assets into usable capital will require thoughtful solutions.

Entrepreneurs do not all look the same, build the same kinds of companies, or create value in the same ways. Our economic-development policies should recognize that.

The Colorado Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) at Mt. Carmel can help connect you with professionals so you can structure your business in a way that best serves you and your business.

If you're a military-connected entrepreneur, connect with us. https://lnkd.in/gEWpiZqN
