Thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural Mt. Carmel Veterans Business Conference last week. This event would not have been possible without the support and engagement of our veteran business owners and the dedicated resource partners who generously contributed their time and expertise.

Special thanks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Business Law Group, and our lender panel participants for leading three outstanding and informative discussion sessions that provided valuable insights to attendees.

Finally, we would like to recognize our food and beverage vendors - Creole Roots, Mike’s BBQ, and Caffeinated Cow - for their excellent service and quality offerings. Attendee feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and their contributions helped create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all.

Thank you:

On this day in 1944, thousands of Allied service members stepped into the unknown to defend liberty and protect future generations. Their courage on D‑Day reminds us of the extraordinary strength found in ordinary people answering the call.

Mt. Carmel stands in gratitude for their sacrifice and remains committed to serving those who serve - yesterday, today, and always.

Do you know who ALICE is?

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed - the hardworking individuals and families in our community who earn above the poverty line but still struggle to afford basics like housing, food, childcare, healthcare, and transportation.

Here in Pueblo County, nearly half of households are working hard yet remain income-constrained. These are the caregivers, educators, retail workers, service staff (and many veterans) who keep our community strong. They deserve stability, dignity, and opportunity.

💙 Thanks to United Way Pueblo County’s Community Investment funding, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center is able to support ALICE households in Pueblo County by providing emergency housing assistance, food distributions, employment coaching, and wraparound services that help veterans and their families move from crisis to stability.

This support ensures that families who are doing everything right still have access to the resources they need to build a stronger future.

We’re proud to partner with United Way Pueblo County in creating real opportunities for ALICE families to thrive.
