Dear John Adams Community,
We need your feedback on how to spend ONE MILLION dollars to support students at John Adams!
District 11 is exploring a potential November 2026 bond measure designed to address long-standing facility needs and create safer, more modern learning environments for every student across the district.
Here is what the data tells us: the average age of D11 facilities is 58 years, and 70% of our buildings do not meet current K–12 standards. District assessments have identified over $422M in necessary facility improvements, while only $17M is available annually for repairs, limiting the district to urgent fixes rather than meaningful upgrades.
The bond planning approach is structured so that every school receives meaningful investment, with additional upgrades prioritized based on facility condition, educational adequacy, and, most importantly, community input.
Potential improvements include:
• Classroom improvements
• Daylighting and energy efficiency
• Entry improvements
• Updates to play areas, athletic fields, and common spaces, and more!
As your Principal and school Bond Liaison, we are committed to making sure John Adams Elementary's voice is part of this process. Together, we will:
• Identify our school's most pressing facility needs
• Gather input from staff, families, and community members
• Submit our school's priorities through the district planning tool
• Keep you informed with factual, consistent communication throughout
To hear more and share your perspective, we invite you to attend one of our upcoming community listening sessions. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes and is open to all families, staff, and community members.
