Round 2 of using up leftover dyes from my awesome students! I've pretty much filled up my second sink with equipment that will dry overnight. I'm looking forward tomorrow to washing 4 unbraided braids and fluffing the Merino.

I'm continue to do pretty well. Tomorrow morning is a walk and workout morning so I'll see how I feel after all that. 😉

After a short rest, I began using some of the leftover dyes that my students were using in Albuquerque!

Leftovers can be so yummy!

I owe you an update and I have to add extras!

My ankle is doing much better and after 2 days of staying down, I decided to walk a bit in our neighborhood. I was slow but that's ok. Today I did our normal 1.5 mile walk including the hill, taking it at a moderate pace. No problems throughout the day! I will continue to increase activity and look forward to playing with colors soon.

The second half of the story is feeling sick. I finally decided to go to the doctor's office and see a nurse practitioner. It turned out that I had a UTI and something in the sinuses. I know we need pollen but 🤧! I also learned that the cough syrup I had in the medicine cabinet had sugar alcohols which makes me really sick and in pain. So that took a while to work its way out of my system!

While I feel kicked around, I am slowly returning to the land of the living. I'm starting to get bored which is one of the best ways to know I am getting better!

So while I dream of playing with dyes and spinning, I know that I need to be careful and not push and that's ok for now. 🙃

I didn't put this on my to-do list for today!

My eyes were dilated this morning and I think I rivaled owl eyes. After leaving my appointment and wearing my heavy duty sunglasses, the early morning sun was so bright that I couldn't see that I really WASN'T at the bottom of the stairs.

It was a most impressive tuck and roll and my ankle is sprained. So, I'm on "vacation" AKA elevating my foot, icing it, and taking an antiinflammatory. Thankfully, nothing is broken and tuning forks are cool!

And 8 hours later I STILL can't see well! 🤪

Hopefully next week I'll be up for some dyeing.

Just spinning. 🙃

My HERO!! Jeff helped me so much this afternoon by mixing up 21 liters of dye stock. While he did that, I was able to begin mixing colors for Garden of the Gods and prep the cookers for Piñon Cañon tomorrow.

This evening I'm relearning how to spin bouclé yarn using Wensleydale top.

I've been doing some art yarn spinning for workshops in Albuquerque soon. I've been enjoying sitting at my wheel and feeling the fiber slide between my thumb and fingers.

It's been a quiet day which was needed. Chai is recovering from a badly broken tooth which ended up in a rough surgery yesterday. She is enjoying having boiled chicken breast and Latte says that Chai needs to continue breaking teeth so SHE can also have chicken! Stinker. 😉
