FIRE RESTRICTIONS LIFTED IN EL PASO COUNTY 🔥

Effective immediately, Stage I Fire Restrictions have been lifted for the unincorporated areas of El Paso County.

We appreciate the cooperation of our community during the recent fire restrictions. Thanks to improved weather conditions, increased moisture, and reduced winds, the restrictions are no longer necessary at this time.

While restrictions have been lifted, wildfire season is far from over. Dry vegetation and changing weather conditions can still create dangerous fire conditions. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and use caution when operating grills, campfires, smoking outdoors, using equipment that may create sparks, or engaging in any activity that could start a fire.

This Memorial Day, we pause to reflect and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a time to honor those who stood the line, defended freedom, and never made it home to their families.

From generations past to present day, countless Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen answered the call to serve something greater than themselves. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Today, as we gather with family and friends under the flag of freedom, we remember those who made that freedom possible.

We shall NEVER FORGET.

🩸🚒 The Cimarron Hills Fire Department is looking for volunteers for TODAY'S blood drive!

We are looking for at least 10 more volunteers, walk-ins welcome starting at noon! Stop by the station at 1885 Peterson Rd., say hi to our crews, and help make a difference by donating blood.

This week, May 17–23, we proudly recognize National EMS Week and celebrate the incredible EMS professionals who serve our community every day. 🚑❤️

EMS is a huge part of who we are at Cimarron Hills Fire Department and a vital part of the fire service as a whole. We are fortunate to have some of the best EMS providers in El Paso County serving our community with compassion, professionalism, and unwavering patient-focused care.

A special thank you to our ambulance crews for stepping into these important roles during a time of organizational growth and change. We are proud of the dedication, professionalism, and exceptional care you provide to our community each and every day.

Thank you as well to the leadership of our EMS program for the continued commitment to keeping CHFD at the forefront of pre-hospital medicine. The future of EMS at our department is bright, and we are excited for what’s ahead.

While we highlighted our ambulance crews, every one of our line personnel serves as an EMT or Paramedic and contributes daily to the outstanding care we provide. Thank you all for your dedication, service, and commitment to our community.

The Pikes Peak Fire Chiefs Council, representing all 27 fire departments in El Paso County, is urging Governor Jared Polis to VETO SB26-184.

Fire service leaders across our region have serious concerns about the long-term impacts this legislation could have on firefighter cancer coverage, workers’ compensation delays, rising insurance costs, and the future sustainability of fire districts across Colorado.

This issue impacts firefighters, emergency medical professionals, and ultimately every Colorado taxpayer.

We encourage our community to take a few moments to read the full letter attached below to better understand the concerns being raised and why fire chiefs across El Paso County are speaking out.
