The Environmental Division of the El Paso County Community Resources Department encompasses Environmental Compliance, Forestry and Noxious Weeds, Household Hazardous Waste, and Natural Resources. Forestry

and Noxious Weeds develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards for efficient mapping, monitoring, enforcement, education, and control of tree diseases, forest pests, and noxious weeds. Household Hazardous Waste promotes philosophy of "reduce, reuse, and recycle," and by accepting an extensive variety of household hazardous waste streams for recycling and/or proper disposal. Natural Resources ensures compliance with laws pertaining to threatened and endangered species and wetlands, monitors conservation easements, and reviews subdivision development plans for environmental impacts
