Social Media Post/Comment Policy
Posts/comments on a City of Colorado Springs sanctioned social media web site containing any of the following inappropriate forms of content shall not be permitted and are subject to removal:
a. Posts that are not factual or accurate;
c. Posts that do not promote ci
vil discussion;
d. Profane, obscene, or pornographic content and/or language;
e. Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, sexual orientation, age, religion, gender or national origin;
f. Content that could compromise an ongoing investigation;
g. Any personal identifying information of any person;
h. Defamatory or personal attacks;
i. Threats to any person or organization;
j. Posts/comments in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns or ballot measures;
k. Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising of any business or product for sale;
l. Conduct in violation of any federal, state or local law;
m. Encouragement of illegal activity;
n. Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or
o. Content that violates a legal ownership interest, such as a copyright or trademark, of any party. Description
The City of Colorado Springs has had a Facebook presence since 2009. We are also on Twitter, YouTube, and Vimeo in order to share information with citizens in a way that is more accessible than ever. By establishing these different ways of communicating, we open new opportunities for citizens and City government to exchange ideas. And that means we want to hear from you, too. We want to provide...e the kind of information that you need and want, so let us know your questions and ideas. The City of Colorado Springs is always accessible through traditional means as well.
