The Treasurer's Office is the main collector and distributor for property taxes within El Paso County, Colorado. Along with property tax collection and distribution, the Treasurer's Office provides additional services:
-Collect Payments for Sheriff's Office Citations (within the first 20 days.)
-Issue Mobile Home Authentications for titling or relocating Mobile Homes within El Paso County.
-Maintain Land/Lease Contracts
-Oversee El Paso County Investments

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Things are a bit crazy right now. The Treasurer has extended the payment deadline to September 1st with no penalty. Partial payments will be accepted. The ballot drop off box is open for tax payments at the east entrance of the Citizens Service Center. We hope to reopen April 13th. Hope you all are safe and well. Take care!
All of us in the Treasurer and Public Trustee offices hope everyone is safe and well. We are doing all we can from home to serve our citizens, but access to data is limited. Please rest assured, all deadlines have been postponed/extended without penalty until all of this is over. Take care!

The Office of the Treasurer is responsible for the collection and distribution of property taxes in compliance with Colorado Statutes. "Our goal is to serve the citizens of El Paso County in the most timely, cost-efficient, and secure manner possible, while treating you with courtesy and respect."
To Tax Lien Investors: Now that taxes are officially delinquent we will be mailing tax lien endorsement reports (sub-tax) the first week of July.
FYI: If your taxes were not paid prior to June 20th you will be receiving a delinquent notice in the mail soon. If you paid your taxes after the 20th you can disregard the notice.😎
The 2018 El Paso County Tax Lien sale will be October 23 & 24. The last day to pay real estate taxes to prevent a tax lien from being offered is Friday, October 19th. Information for tax lien investors is available on the Treasurer's website: http://treasurer.elpasoco.com
The County is having issues with our websites and right now the entire system is down. Our IT Department is working as quickly as they can to get us up and running again. Until the problem is fixed you'll need to call our office for tax information. Our phone number is (719) 520-7900
Full tax payments are due April 30th. Payments are considered received on time if postmarked by April 30th. If you missed the February 28th deadline for paying your first half payment, you may still pay the half amount but will need to include late interest of 2 percent of the tax amount.
**UPDATED NOTICE: The County website will be down from 7pm Saturday March 24th through 12am Sunday, March 25th.
The County's website will be down Saturday, March 24th from 2pm to 8pm.
The CAL system is available again.
The County Access Link (CAL) system is currently unavailable. We are working on resolving this issue as quickly as we can. 2017 tax information is available on our website under "online services" "property record search and online payments".
The county is currently experiencing "technical difficulties" with our email system. We are working on resolving the issue.
The Treasurer's Office is accepting prepayments of the estimated 2017 taxes payable in 2018. The deadline is Friday, December 29th.
The Treasurer's Office will be closed Monday, September 4th in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
All County Offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Delinquent tax notices will be mailed for all taxes that were not paid by June 22, 2017. If your taxes were paid after June 22 you may disregard the notice.
The County's websites and CAL system are currently experiencing"technical difficulties". We hope to have the issues resolved soon.
Second half tax payments are due on or before June 15th. Payments are considered received on time if postmarked June 15.
The Treasurer's Office will be closed Monday May 29th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
The entire El Paso County website will be down Saturday May 20th from 3pm to7pm for system maintenance.
The first half payment deadline has come and gone! If you managed to miss that date, please contact us or visit our website to verify the correct amount to send in with the additional interest that has accrued. (1% per month on the original amount due.)
Otherwise, the full payment deadline DOES fall on a weekend this year -- allowing for that additional floating day! This means that the full payments are due on or before May 1st. For these deadlines we DO accept post marks, so please drop the payment with your local post office if you'll be sending it out on that same day.

Our office will be closed on Monday, February 20th in observance of Presidents Day. Any Sheriff's Office citations due will be accepted as timely on Tuesday. Our online services will still be available for payments or verifying payments received.
The last of the tax statements have all been mailed out!!! If yours managed to get lost along the way, you are able to print copies of the real estate accounts online through our website! (trs.elpasoco.com) Please call us for any missing personal property accounts or if you'd like any assistance in locating your property.
Remember, if you currently have a mortgage please verify with your lender if you are escrowing your taxes! We'd hate for you to pay us directly when you're already paying into your taxes on a monthly basis!

We are thrilled to announce that majority of the 2016 taxes payable in 2017 are now available online through our website! (trs.elpasoco.com) You are now able to submit online payments, download a PDF of your most current tax bill, as well as review previous years' payment history!

First, we'd like to wish all of the residents of El Paso County a Happy New Year!
Our transition into the new collection year is well under way, so here are some key updates:
- Statements for the 2016 taxes payable in 2017 will be mailed so they are received by the end of January. These statements will also be available to download through our website once they have been generated.
- Online payments (electronic checks, credit cards and debit cards) will be available once the 2016 taxes have been finalized.
- If you have recently updated your address, the update may not have been captured in time to change the intial statement's destination. A second statement will be mailed once the update reflects in our system.
As always, please verify with your mortgage company if you are unsure if your property taxes are being escrowed.
The Treasurer's Office will be closed Friday December 23rd & Monday December 26th For The CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY, And January 2nd For The NEW YEAR HOLIDAY. Any Sheriff's Office citations due within those days will be accepted as timely on the following business day.

The Holidays are upon us! We will be closing the office at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23rd and will reopen on Monday, November 28th. Any Sheriff's Office citations that are due during that time window will be accepted as timely on the 28th.
It is still too early for pre-payments of the 2016 taxes, so please wait until after December 15th before sending in the estimated amounts.

It's finally here! Today is the first day of Tax Sale! We're accepting deposits for the automatic rotation up until 11:00 AM, and then we'll be starting the automatic rotation after noon! If you're looking to check the assignment of liens, please wait until after 3:00 PM to contact our office.
Open bidding is on Wednesday, October 26th. We'll begin the auction at 8:30 AM and will push forward at the best pace possible for our participants and auctioneer. Bidder cards will be picked up upon entering the room. (On the first floor, 1017.)
Between both days, we have a total of 1,735 properties with delinquent property taxes. In El Paso County, we have a total of 247,576 taxable Real Estate properties. That's not too shabby!!
For any property owners that still maintain a balance due on their property taxes: The last day to pay to prevent a tax lien from being placed against the property is October 21st. If you are mailing in a payment, please ensure you are sending certified funds: i.e. cashiers check or money order. You're also welcome to visit our office to pay with cash or cashiers check/money order as well as utilize your debit/credit card. (There is an additional 2.75% processing fee to process the card.)
For any investors who participate in our Tax Sale: Please complete the allocation form from our website and return this form with your deposit so we know which portion of the Tax Sale you'll be participating in!
For any new participants: We will not assign you a buyer number without having a deposit on hand. Please return the completed registration forms along with your deposit to simplify the process.

**PLEASE NOTE** We are currently experiencing issues regarding our main phone line coming into the office. Please be patient as our IT team is working their best to have servers reset and everything working again.
**UNPLANNED BUILDING CLOSURE*** Due to an underground water main break, the El Paso County Citizens Service Center will be CLOSED for the remainder of today.
We will be accepting August payment amounts through TOMORROW, September 1st. Any Sheriff's Office citations issued on August 11th will also be accepted tomorrow.
Online services are still available up until midnight tonight! Through the website you are able to pay current year property taxes for mobile homes and real estate accounts.
Just a couple of reminders! Our office will be closing at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 2nd and will remain closed through Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day! Any citations issued through the Sheriff's Office that are due on that day will be accepted as timely on Tuesday.
August 31st is the last day that we will accept personal (or business) checks for past due property taxes. From September 1st on, we will only be able to accept certified funds. This also results in the online services being disabled, removing the ability to accept credit card payments.
