With the CWC High School ministry name of "Lofi YTH," there is a WAY deeper meaning behind it, besides the chill and immaculate vibes that this music genre for this current generation of high schoolers brings. "Lofi" is short for "low fidelity" and the formal definition of lofi music is a production of music that emphasizes and vocalizes the imperfections in a song as an aesthetic choice. In knowi
ng the deeper meaning behind the name, in relation to the definition, the vision for "Lofi YTH" as a high school ministry, will be a safe place/culture where high schoolers can come and choose to be vulnerable, honest, and transparent with God, each other, and their leaders about the imperfections and brokenness they face as young people in this day and age; and in that safe place, to know that everyone will be received and prayed for exactly where they are at in the unconditional love and the abounding grace that Jesus has given to all of us! (James 5:13-16)
Where we can truly have a real encounter with Jesus personally, for ourselves; who He truly says He is in His Word! Where we can build Christ-centered relationships, community, and a faith that will last! This time that we gather is essential and is truly needed, especially in a society that revolves around fear, judgement, division, isolation, and so much more. We need a place that is Christ-centered; where truth in love, unity, community, and grace is found and is lit up! How we go about that vision is our mission as the whole church of CWCCS, which is, "To KNOW Christ and make Christ KNOWN through acts of compassion, love, and community." To simply put, we truly strive to DO LIFE TOGETHER! To love God, love people, and the rest are details! (Matthew 22: 34-40)
I pray that everyone who comes knows that they are welcomed and invited!
