On Sunday August 30, 2026 at 10:06 p.m., the Colquitt Police Department responded to 359 S Fourth Street Circle K convenience store in reference to a shooting. The Miller County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol also responded and were instrumental in the apprehension of all parties involved. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations was asked to come and take over the investigation due to the complex nature of the crimes. Our department would like to thank all law enforcement agencies who assisted in this case for the swift capture of the offenders. We would also like to thank Miller County Hospital and Life Flight EMS for their medical response and treatment of the injured parties.
All people involved in this incident were identified and found to be from Blakely, Ft Gaines, and Cuthbert, Georgia. Colquitt Police Department is committed to ensuring that our citizens are safe and feel secure in their homes, businesses, and daily lives. We will not tolerate violence being brought to our streets and all offenders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
