School is back in session and that means there are kids walking to and from their bus stops and schools.

This is a reminder that drivers MUST come to a full and complete stop at stop signs. Slowing down and rolling through are only acceptable at yield signs. This fun video shows how to properly and legally stop. 🛑🛑🛑

Speeding...just don't do it. Please remind your teen drivers not to speed. Wake up on time. Plan ahead. If you get pulled over, you're going to be even later than if you drove the speed limit.

City of Colstrip 911 Dispatcher Opening

The City of Colstrip is taking applications for (one) full-time 911 Dispatcher.

The successful candidate must be able to work 12-hour shifts, to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Candidates must also be able to successfully complete the Montana Law Enforcement Academy Telecommunicator’s Course within one year of hire, a pre-employment drug screening and background check, 1-year probationary period and enroll with the Montana Public Employees Association-Colstrip Police bargaining unit.

Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Starting salary DOE but no less than $25.24/hour.

We have had in uptick in reports of theft and vandalism recently. Here are a few ways to prevent, deter, or at least have the potential to catch things happening:

1: Keep your belongings behind closed, secured doors (houses and vehicles);
2: Install cameras to surveille your property;
3: Improve lighting around your property;
4: Secure fencing;
5: Create positive relationships with your neighbors to watch out for each other's houses;
6: Report it to the police department. See Something; Say Something.
