The Glaucopsyche piasus, commonly known as the Arrowhead Blue, is a butterfly species found throughout California. This butterfly can be identified by its white fringes. Males have vibrant violet-blue wings, while females usually have dull-colored wings, typically in shades of brown and gray. The Arrowhead Blue is attracted to the Miniature Lupine (Lupinus bicolor), a native and drought-tolerant plant with petals that range in color from shades of blue to white and purple.
