Another great Flag Day celebration is in the books! This year marked the 40th year of this celebration of Old Glory. Thank you to St. Mary's County Government Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad American Legion Post 221, Father Andrew White School chorus, Elks #2092, Scouting America and all of the residents that turned out to enjoy this tradition.

RELEASE: MDH has issued an expanded consumer advisory for all cheese products from Clover Hill Dairy in Mechanicsville, Md. due to possible Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) contamination. The facility has agreed to issue a voluntary recall for all cheese products.

40th annual Crab & Music Festival to benefit Leonardtown Lions Club! The kissing booth had some upgrades and I eventually had my pop up tent delivered.
I managed to get quite a few signatures for the petition drive and talked to a ton of people about things going on in the county. Visit St. Mary's MD St. Mary's County Government

The "kissing booth" is up and hanging on in this wind here in Hollywood. Early turnout in the past hour has been disheartening.

Want to sign the petition? Just drop a line and I'll come to you and your neighborhood to knock doors. My schedule for this weekend:

Fri - early voting at HVFD until noon then back at 1:30 until 3:30 then door knocking.

Sat - Fairgrounds for the crab festival

Sun - door knocking in the 7th, Flag Day Ceremony in Leonardtown

If anybody has a few hours that they would willing to spend with door knocking or manning a table at a polling site, let me know and we can make that happen.

You will not see my name on the ballot during primary season, it will only be on the ballot during the general election.

PROVIDED that I get the required amount of signatures to qualify.

I am a federal employee that is covered by the HATCH ACT which states that covered employees cannot run as a partisan elected official. Therefore, I am forced by federal law to run as an unaffiliated/independent candidate.

Couple that requirement with the state's requirement to get 1% of the registered voters in the county to sign a petition to even appear on the ballot in November and you can get a glimpse of the challenges ahead of me and my determination to get qualified and to earn your vote!
