Colts Neck's monument remembering September 11, 2001

Colts Neck's native born, internationally known Jim Gary designed and built the monument in Colts Neck. Colts Neck lost five of its own that day of horror. They were:
Dennis Cook, James Ladley, John Casazza, Paul James Furmato, and John Joseph Murray.

Allow me to take a moment to describe the “Garden of Remembrance”.
The fountain is the focal point of the Garden of Remembrance. The symbolism is as relevant today as it was when it was conceived.
The lotus flower symbolizes: Peace
The water: Renewal and Life
Five stained glass butterflies” Metamorphosis and Rebirth
Five white dogwoods: Purity of Spirit
Five benches: Commemorating each Colts Neck Victim

We Remember Them poem was written by then Colts Neck Mayor Lillian G. Burry , 9/11/2001; Monmouth County Commissioner.

We Remember Them
In the opening of buds and in the warmth of summer,
We Remember Them
When we are weary and in need of strength,
We Remember Them
When we are lost and sick of heart,
We Remember Them
When we have joys we yearn to share,
We Remember Them
So long as we live, they too shall live
For now they are a part of us,
As We Remember Them.
