➡️ Airport Advisory Committee Meeting – DATE CHANGE
The meeting originally scheduled for September 28 has been moved to Monday, October 5 at 5pm. The meeting will be held in the Port Office Commission Room.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Come out and enjoy the NWAAC Annual Pie-In Fly-In, biplane rides, a formation flying demonstration, aircraft, live music, Amelia’s Mexican Food, Willamette Valley Pie Co. and more!

The event also supports the NWAAC Scholarship Fund, helping encourage the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and pilots.

✈️ THE RUNWAY IS OPEN! ✈️

After months of planning, construction, coordination and a whole lot of patience, Runway 15/33 at Scappoose Airport has officially reopened to fixed-wing aircraft!

We couldn't be more excited to welcome our airport community back to the runway. 🎉

A HUGE thank you to our tenants, businesses, pilots, staff, neighbors and community members for your patience and flexibility throughout the project.

We also want to recognize Century West Engineering and Western United Civil Group for their professionalism, communication and coordination throughout the project. Their work helped make this major infrastructure project a success.

This was a significant federally and state-funded investment in Scappoose Airport and our community, helping preserve and improve critical airport infrastructure for years to come.

And we're not quite done yet!

The East Side Pavement Maintenance Project is scheduled to begin the week of September 8. The good news? This project will NOT close the runway. More information will be shared with airport users soon.

But first, we're ready to celebrate! 🎉

Announcing our August Outdoor Recreation Forum! Happening on Wednesday, August 19th from 4 pm to 6 pm via Zoom. We will hear from a variety of local outdoor enthusiasts about kayaking in the Scappoose Bay, the Crown Zellerbach Trail, and St. Helens Parks Friends of groups!

🎉 Big News for Columbia County - $4 Million EPA Grant Award!

Last week, the Port of Columbia County received incredible news: we were awarded a $4 million Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Cleanup Grant to accelerate remediation of the Port-owned former Pope & Talbot creosoting site along the Columbia River, just upriver from St. Helens.

This is a tremendous win for Columbia County, Scappoose Bay, and the Columbia River. Working alongside the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and leveraging additional funding, this grant will help us move this long-awaited cleanup toward completion and bring this important waterfront property one step closer to productive future reuse.

⛳ Last week, Port Commissioner Sorber represented the Port of Columbia County at the Maritime Commerce Club's (MCC) Annual Golf Tournament at Lewis River Golf Course.

The event is a great opportunity to connect with partners across the maritime industry and strengthen the relationships that support our regional economy.

We're also proud that our Deputy Executive Director, Amy Bynum, serves on the Maritime Commerce Club Board of Directors and volunteered at the event.

✈️ Runway Rehabilitation Update – Week 3!

We're officially three weeks into our approximately three-month runway rehabilitation project at the Scappoose Airport, and we're excited to report that construction is progressing on schedule! 🚧

When complete, this major investment will provide a safer, stronger, and more resilient runway and upgraded airfield infrastructure designed to serve our aviation community for decades to come. We appreciate the patience and support of our pilots, tenants, and airport users as we complete this important project.
