We are accepting applications for lateral and new recruits.
We must receive your application by 3:00 pm on Friday September 18, 2026.
Salary is $64,000 + (after probationary period).
Benefits:
Health, dental and eye insurance.
Health savings account. Currently the City supplements $2000 towards your deductible of $4100 for family, $3400 for individual.
Vacation/Personal/Sick time:
You will receive 4 personal days a year.
You will earn 1 sick day per month.
Vacation is earned as follows:
After 1 year of service – 5 days
After 2 years of service – 10 days (years 2 – 4)
After 5 years of service – 15 days (years 5 – 9)
After 10 years of service – 20 days (years 10 – 14)
After 15 years of service – 25 days
We have a take home car program, extends to adjacent county.
Overtime Pay – paid at time and a half
Longevity Pay
Clothing allowance of $1500.00/year
Walk-in clinic (available to employee and immediate family)
14-16 Paid Holidays (when holiday is worked)
Schedule:
12-hour shifts

Qualifications:
Applicant must have U.S. citizenship.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not older than 40 years of age at the time of appointment.
Applicants must also possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid Indiana Driver's License, must pass a criminal background check, and pass a physical agility test and written test.
