Since it’s founding in 1976, SACA Food Shelf and Thrift Store has remained committed to providing basic needs services to Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop, Spring Lake Park and NE Minneapolis. We have developed systems using community input so that we can provide the best care possible in order to accomplish our mission of providing food and resources to those in need, while empowering dignity a

nd independence to those we serve in our community. To begin accessing the services you may need from SACA, call 763.789.2444 to setup an appointment. We will always feed you! Make a difference in your community by making a donation to SACA. Each $1 donated equals 10lbs of food! NOTE: The Thrift Store is current closed and we are unable to accept items.

Our first Curbside distribution was a BIG success! Thank you to the wonderful crew of volunteers who helped pack boxes and greet neighbors today! 😊

We’re looking forward to serving more neighbors next week! SACA Curbside appointments will be available most Fridays between 10 am - 2 pm (excluding the 3rd Friday of the month) and can be booked once a month. Curbside appointments open for booking on our website 7 days in advance.

HELP! 🚨🚨🚨We need 20 more volunteers to help with our Curbside program tomorrow (Friday, 6/5). Volunteers will be stocking the market, greeting volunteers, and filling orders for our neighbors between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm.

This program allows us to offer morning hours and a larger assortment of items, but we need your help to make it possible! Let's do this together!

We're thrilled to announce that SACA will be hosting a Minnesota GreenCorps member starting in September!

This role will help grow our food rescue program, enhance operations, and work alongside our staff team and volunteers to build sustainable ways to rescue more food and serve more neighbors!

Applications for Minnesota GreenCorps members are now open for the September 2026–August 2027 service term.

SACA’s food programs are growing! ✨SACA Curbside launches on Friday, June 5. Neighbors will be able to book a monthly curbside appointment to pick up groceries including fresh produce, frozen meats and other items, a larger selection of pantry staples, hygiene products, household products, and more.

This is a drive-up program where neighbors will fill out a menu from their car and volunteers will shop for them. Menus will rotate based on what we have available.

SACA Curbside appointments will be available between 10 am - 2 pm on Fridays, and can be booked through our website starting Monday, June 1.

We have a new spot for donation drop off! It is now quicker and easier for you to drop off food and thrift store donations.

Our donation hours are Mondays - Thursdays, 10 am - 4 pm.

Simply pull your car right up to the garage door on the north side of the building. You’ll see a yellow DONATIONS sign on the door to the right of the garage. Hop out and ring the doorbell to the left of that door.

Staff or Volunteers like Jim will be there to answer the door and help you unload! 😊
