During the SCAC Annual Conference, 56 officials earned Level I certificates, 35 earned Level II certificates, and 14 graduates achieved both levels. Dorchester County’s Greenbelt Program has protected more than 2,300 acres of wetlands, forests and working farms, while York County recently opened the 1,900-acre Catawba Bend Preserve along the Catawba River.

Forward-thinking conservation efforts like these help communities protect the natural resources vital to South Carolina’s ecosystems while planning for future growth.
