This chart compares property taxes ranked lowest to highest in the US. Kentucky is ranked 21st nationally, and we are in the top 8 for median home values. This factor is the primary reason for the influx of out-of-state residents relocating to Kentucky, and the trend will continue for the foreseeable future. Property values have increased substantially in the last 24 months with no decrease in sight. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when the market changes.

We want the taxpayers of Adair County to be on the lookout for an out-of-state company soliciting Adair County property owners. They are sending purchase agreements to random property owners - please be aware and vigilant when reviewing these letters. We recommend shredding/disposing of these letters when you get them. The Adair County PVA Office will be closing at 2 pm Wednesday, August 16, 2023, for the funeral service of Jeff Feese. He worked as a Branch manager and Field Rep for the Department of Revenue for 23 years. Jeff served as PVA of Adair County in 2014, finishing his public service career in 2018. He was an avid outdoorsman that mentored many young hunters in the art of the woods. Jeff had a generous heart and would always help those in need. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time; Jeff will be missed by many.
