It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of a teammate.
Staff Sgt. Corey R. Brown, a 34-year-old drill sergeant, from 4th Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, was found unresponsive in his home, Sunday, July 28th and was later pronounce deceased.
“This is a solemn day for Team Jackson as we mourn the loss of a teammate and friend,” said Fort Jackson commander, Maj. Gen. Jason E. Kelly. “We are providing comfort and assistance to his family and fellow cadre members and extend our deepest sympathies to all who knew him.”
Drill Sergeant Brown of High point, NC, served for more than 13 years. His presence in our community will be missed.
