We are so sad to hear about the passing of Dolly Parton. As a library, we are very grateful for the beautiful impact she made on the world of literacy. There are so many Adair County children that receive free books monthly thanks to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and those books help these kids lay the stepping stones for a love of reading! Thank you, Dolly, for reminding us that kindness is a powerful force, it's ok to dream big, and there is always room for one more book. ❤🦋

The next Saturday Session of the Adair Genealogical Society and Adair Genealogy & History Research Center is coming upon us. The 5th scheduled session--and 2nd Walking Tour for this year is:

A Heritage Walking Tour of Downtown Columbia, scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 6pm CT. Mike Watson will lead a group from the Research Center [307 Greensburg Street] to the Public Square and take a few side trips on the way down and back.

The topics will vary, but generally deal with early formation of the town and some of the Revolutionary War veterans and patriots who contributed to make this a thriving town.

Take a peek behind the scenes as we put together Generations at the Table, our community cookbook filled with recipes submitted by our wonderful library and bookmobile patrons! ❤️

This cookbook was part of our Adult Summer Reading activities, celebrating the recipes, traditions, and foods our families love. From treasured family favorites to new dishes to try, it’s a little taste of our community all in one book. 🥧🍪🥘
