Howard County Democrats United for Action slate member Teresa Baker is a Howard County Master Gardener! In Maryland, Master Gardeners are certified volunteers trained in science-based horticulture through the University of Maryland Extension program. Teresa is a life-long gardener who never outgrew her love of playing in the dirt. Now, as a Master Gardener, Teresa volunteers at gardens throughout the county, including the Enchanted Garden at Miller Library and Whipps Garden Cemetery in Ellicott City. She also works to eradicate invasive plants with other Columbia Association and monitors stream health with the Izaak Walton League's Salt Watch program. She is a member of Longfellow Garden Club of Howard County. Emerge Maryland has been cultivating and supporting women to run for office and win across the state of Maryland for decades. Congratulations to our own Dr. Marina Lambrinou, who was sworn in Wednesday night as a new member of the Howard County Democratic Central Committee! Marina was selected to fill the open Female position that became available in March. With her swearing in, Marina becomes the third LGBTQIA+ official in Howard County. A native of Cyprus, Marina is a lifelong educator serving our Howard County school children. We are thrilled to have her perspective on the DCC!

Jackie has been a Howard County resident for more than 25 years, raising her three children in the county’s public schools. She is a current member of the Howard County Democratic Central Committee and is running for re‑election. Raised in an activist Democratic household, Jackie first learned the value of civic engagement while door‑knocking with her mother, an educator and union advocate. Quiet but strong, she brings focus, determination, and a deep commitment to service.

Jackie's community involvement spans decades—PTA and Girl Scout leadership, founding member of the Thurgood Marshall Democratic Club, Board Member of the Columbia Democratic Club, and active alum of Leadership Howard County and Leadership Maryland. Sunday morning, members of the Howard County Democrats United for Action slate attended Celebration Church at Columbia's service to support Governor Wes Moore as he received a Legacy Leadership Award from Pastor Matt Quainoo and the Celebration team. Together with the congregation and other Howard County elected officials and candidates, the team listened to a panel discussion including Governor Moore and County Executive Calvin Ball on how their faith strengthens and transforms their journey as public servants. Food for the soul on a Sunday morning!
