The National Safety Council (NSC) observes National Safety Month annually in June, and there is no better time to revisit safety in the workplace as we close out one fiscal year and begin another.
The NCS created National Safety Month to bring extra attention to the safety issues faced in the workplace. From the smallest to the largest hazards, taking small steps to avoid them can make a big impact.
According to Admin's Safety Department, “Safety is a shared responsibility. At Admin, we strive to maintain a workplace where every employee feels informed and prepared for any situation.”
Here are some ways to ensure you're creating a safe workspace for you and your coworkers:
• You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of others.
• All accidents are preventable.
• Do not take shortcuts. Always follow the rules.
• If you are not trained, do not do it.
• Use the right tools and equipment and use them in the right way.
• Assess the risks before you approach your work.
• Practice good housekeeping.
Take some time to think about how you can proactively contribute to a safe work environment. Health and safety are key factors for all offices to ensure the wellness our employees. Be sure to do your part!
