🦅 Shining Eagles on the Rise! 🦅
Big applause for these amazing Eagles who earned the top scores of the entire 4th grade on their weekly ELA quiz! 🌟
As a reward for their hard work, they had the unique opportunity to step into the role of assistant teacher and help our 1st graders practice addition and subtraction. Seeing our older students support our youngest learners with key math foundational skills is what building momentum is all about at East Marion Elementary!

Mrs. Bennett’s 4th graders made learning come to life this week! They watched a Disney Pixar Short and analyzed the characters, identifying the problem, character actions, and lessons learned to determine the story’s theme.

PD days at EME help to support our staff’s professional development. Nurse Jerri provided “What to Look for” when students have chronic or acute illnesses. Mrs. Savage and Mrs. James, from Kids 1st, provide teachers with instructional coaching support. 🦅❤️ ;

Yesterday our 5th graders brought learning to life through Readers Theatre — and they absolutely loved it. Mrs. Masey’s enrichment Students stepped into character, practiced expressive reading, and reviewed what they already knew about place value and number forms in a fun, performance‑based way.

This blend of creativity and academics continues to build confidence, fluency, and strong math reasoning. Our Eagles showed up, shined bright, and soared.

ELA Standards Met

• Reading Fluency — Students practiced accuracy, pacing, and expressive reading.
• Speaking & Listening — Students communicated clearly, listened actively, and worked cooperatively.
• Comprehension — Students interpreted scripts, vocabulary, and content meaning.

Math Standards Met

• Place Value Understanding — Students identified digit values in multi‑digit numbers.
• Number Forms — Students read and wrote numbers in standard, word, and expanded form.
• Comparing Numbers — Students used place value reasoning to compare multi‑digit numbers.

They performed with confidence, supported their classmates, and showed mastery of skills in a way that felt exciting and meaningful. Enrichment continues to be a place where learning grows wings. 🦅🎭
