◾𝗣𝗛𝟮𝟳-𝟮𝟲 FY 2027 Annual Budget for the City of Columbia.

◾𝗕𝟮𝟬𝟵-𝟮𝟲 Adopting a budget for the City of Columbia, Missouri for the fiscal year October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027 (FY 2027); providing that certain amounts shown in the budget document are appropriated for the various departments specified in said budget

◾𝗣𝗛𝟮𝟵-𝟮𝟲 Proposed amendments to Chapters 13 and 22 of the City Code as it relates to hauled liquid waste rates and sanitary sewer utility rates.

◾𝗕𝟭𝟳𝟮-𝟮𝟲𝗔 Amending Chapter 13 of the City Code as it relates to hauled liquid waste rates; amending Chapter 22 of the City Code as it relates to sanitary sewer utility rates.

There’s something special about this time of year in Columbia. ☀️

School is back in session, our parks and public spaces are buzzing, and fall activities are already in motion.

From cheering on a parade and enjoying live music to making memories at our parks, wrapping up another season at the pools and racing across the finish line, there’s no shortage of ways to get out and enjoy Columbia.

The temperatures may still be holding onto summer for a little while longer, but we’re looking forward to everything this next season brings.

Here’s to the people, places, and moments that make Columbia feel like home. 💙

💙 𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗴𝗼 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱.

Columbia Utility customers can turn spare change into meaningful help for local residents experiencing financial hardship by rounding up their monthly utility bill to the nearest dollar.

The average contribution is about 50 cents a month. Still, when thousands of customers participate, those small contributions can add up to tens of thousands of dollars to help neighbors keep essential services, including electricity and heat.

Best of all, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮, 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

For one of the newest members of the Columbia Missouri Police Department, becoming a police officer is about having the opportunity to help people, protect and serve the community, and build meaningful connections with the people of Columbia.

As this academy class begins the next chapter of their careers, they carry a commitment to keep learning, grow alongside their fellow officers, and be there for the community when needed.

Columbia voters approved Prop 1 on Aug. 4, establishing a dedicated one percent general sales and use tax to support public safety.

The funding will be used exclusively for Columbia Police and Fire operations and capital improvements, helping the City meet the needs of our growing community through investments in personnel, equipment, and facilities.

🚧 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟖

Construction of a new roundabout at South Fairview Road and Chapel Hill Road begins Tuesday, Sept. 8. Construction will continue into winter.

Chapel Hill Road will remain open throughout construction, but drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes when possible.

Later phases will include the closure of South Fairview Road north of Chapel Hill Road.

The project also includes stormwater improvements and new sidewalk along the north side of Chapel Hill Road, east of Fairview Road. Public Works will provide updates as construction progresses.

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟳, 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆.

Several City services will also have schedule changes for the holiday:

• 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 & 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: No residential curbside collection Monday. Collections will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week. The landfill will also be closed Monday.
• 𝗚𝗼 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗢: No fixed-route bus, Paratransit, or MU Tiger Line service Monday.
• 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Suspended Monday.
• 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 & 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Closed Monday and will resume normal hours Tuesday.
• 𝗔𝗥𝗖: Open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.
• 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁-𝗢𝗮𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿: Open noon to 5 p.m. Monday.
• 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Police and fire emergency services remain available. Administrative offices will be closed.
• 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹: The regular meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, instead of Monday.
