The SC Department of Archives and History is recruiting for an African American History Consultant.
The position is part of the State Historic Preservation Office and serves as the agencyโs liaison to the South Carolina African American Heritage Commission, which has the charge to identify and promote the preservation of historic sites, structures, buildings, and culture of the African American experience in South Carolina.
The ideal candidate will have experience in historical research, public history, and program management; and have the interpersonal skills to thrive in a collaborative setting.
Celebrating more than 120 years of serving the people of South Carolina, the SC Department of Archives and Historyโs mission is to preserve and promote the documentary and cultural heritage of the Palmetto State through the Archives, Records Management program, and State Historic Preservation Office.
