The FRI’s flagship event is its annual public utility symposium, which brings together regulators and commission staff, electric, gas and water executives, consumer advocates and academics. Held in the fall, this one day event examines issues that impact consumers, industry and regulators. The symposium is targeted to state regulators, legislators, commission staff, utility managers, policy analys
ts, attorneys, consumer advocates and academics. The symposium features exciting speakers and a set of diverse panels that stimulate active discussion on current and forthcoming utility regulatory policy. The Hot Topic Hotline is a bi-monthly program to discuss relevant issues via a web/teleconference call. The Hot Topic Hotline provides an opportunity for regulators, industry and consumer advocates to discuss and debate issues on a variety of topics in a neutral environment. The FRI Advisory Board was established in 1988 as an essential component of the FRI. The advisory board includes regulators, industry executives, and consumer representatives, and operates under the leadership of Dr. Stephen Ferris.
