Today, our community is grieving the loss of a man whose presence made every room and every fireground a better place. Eddie Hamm of Webb Volunteer Fire Department passed away, leaving behind a legacy woven from service, hard work, and genuine kindness.
Eddie was so much more than a firefighter. He was a devoted family man and the kind of person whose character spoke louder than any title. Whether he was standing on a fire scene or leaning on a fence line, Eddie carried a smile that could steady nerves and lift spirits. He was the type of man who would give you anything without a second thought, because helping others wasn’t something he did—it was who he was.
Our department had the privilege of working side‑by‑side with Eddie and Webb Volunteer Fire for many years. On countless calls, he stood shoulder‑to‑shoulder with us, answering the same alarms, facing the same challenges, and sharing the same commitment to protecting this community. Eddie’s impact will echo far beyond today—through the people he helped, the friends he made, and the example he set.
