Summer Music Festival – Music A-Z - Presented by Winter Growth & Isir Music Project

Join us for a special two-day celebration of music, memory, and community! Featuring musicians from Iris Music Project: MaryAnn, Hilde, & Nicole. The event also includes original “My Song” compositions by our own residents, plus a lively resident sing-along.

Thank you to the JCA’s Kensington Club volunteers!

We're so grateful to the wonderful volunteers from JCA's Kensington Club who came to Winter Growth – Olney Center on May 29 to spend time with our program participants and create art as part of the Opening Minds through Arts project — an intergenerational program that sparks creativity, connection, and joy across generations.

From painting side by side to sharing stories and smiles, it was inspiring to see the focus, laughter, and genuine friendships forming around the art table. These moments mean the world to our participants, and we can’t thank you enough for sharing your time and hearts with us.

Special Thank You to Karen and Dana for helping us create art, memories, and meaning together.

Thank you, Rotary Club of Columbia/Patuxent!

We were honored to present Winter Growth at the club's breakfast meeting at JAM Eateries today, thanks to a warm invitation from the Rotary Club of Columbia/Patuxent, with our CEO, Mandy Arnold, speaking on behalf of Winter Growth.

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club members for their incredible support — including sponsoring the annual Moonlight Dance for the past two years and so much more. Their partnership and dedication to the community mean the world to us.

We're grateful for the opportunity to share our mission with such a wonderful group of community leaders.

Music has no borders – and yesterday, it brought generations together.

We were thrilled to host the Iris Music Festival at Winter Growth Olney Center this Tuesday, featuring the talented band and choir students from Redland Middle School, performing side-by-side with Iris musicians.

Ms. Fitzharris, Choral/Drama Director at Redland Middle School, led the students with skill and heart and their energy was infectious.

The room was filled with joy as students and our participants connected through song – with smiles, rhythm, and shared melodies. At one beautiful moment, an Iris musician sang together with a participant, creating a memory none of us will forget.

Thank you to Iris musicians, Ms. Fitzharris, and the students for reminding us that music heals, unites, and crosses every generation.

Honoring Veterans & Residents - This Memorial Day, Winter Growth honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

In our home-like environment — where meals are shared around familiar tables, laughter echoes down quiet hallways, and every resident is known by name — we pause to remember and celebrate the residents within our Winter Growth family who served in uniform, as well as those whose loved ones answered the call. We also honor the loved ones they hold in memory.

Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

Spring Fling Family Social – A Beautiful Day at Winter Growth – Columbia Center!

What a gorgeous spring day we had in the courtyard! The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, and our Winter Growth family gathered for laughter, love, music, and delicious food.

Chef Saeed and Kitchen Manager Teara absolutely outdid themselves at the grill – serving up grilled kabobs, savory beans, hamburgers and hotdogs, sweet spring pudding, and the most refreshing watermelon slices.

Families and residents chatted side by side. Games brought out plenty of smiles and friendly competition. And the courtyard? Filled with nothing but warm weather and warmer hearts.

Thank you to everyone who joined us – residents, families, caregivers, and staff. These are the days we live for at Winter Growth.

Join Winter Growth – Columbia Center on Saturdays, May 9th & June 13th, from 10:00–11:00 am for an IN-PERSON, warm, and welcoming support group designed just for family caregivers like you.

VIRTUAL meetings are also available with Becky Donahue at Winter Growth – Olney Center on Thursdays, May 21st & June 18th, from 9:30–10:30 am.

Share stories, talk through challenges, exchange practical advice, and discover resources — all in a space built on compassion, kindness, and encouragement.
