As we finish our first week into the New Year, we thought we would share Columbia Senior Center's activity calendar. You can use the attached link to check the calendar for our center (and others in Lancaster County) - and check anytime for each new month. We would like to extend our welcome to anyone over the age of 60 who would like to visit/join our senior center. Here at the center, we have a variety of different activities we offer daily. We are open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. but typically our members leave right after they eat lunch. In the morning, we offer coffee, tea, and light breakfast snacks (ex: crackers, cereal, oatmeal). We do external trips such as a meal at Shady Maple Smorgasbord, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, Museums, etc. and so much more! You will just have to come check us out for more info! 😊 If you would like to come and want us to order lunch, we do need to know a week in advanced. On Friday, the Columbia Senior Center had a Halloween celebration. Members dressed up, decorated pumpkins and shared lots of laughs. We had two different contests going on, the best costume and the best decorated pumpkin. Our winners were Amber (best costume) and Kathy (best pumpkin). All votes were casted by the members themselves. We are beyond proud of all the members creativity. Thank you to everyone who participated! We just wanted to share our great time with you! Happy Thursday! This morning the Columbia Senior Center got their professional pictures back from their September 5th Western themed Senior Prom with the Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center. On Friday, September 5th, the Columbia Senior Center and the Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center has their senior prom all planned out by the wonderful people at Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County. The prom this year was Western themed and the seniors absolutely loved it! They danced, had some breakfast snacks, a catered lunch and TONS of smiles! We would like to thank everyone who came, everyone who planned this event and especially thank you to our sponsors! This event wouldn’t have been able to happen without you! 😊

On Friday, the Columbia Senior Center hosted a Jazz concert by Dave Wilson & Prime Example. Our friends from the Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center came and we had an absolute blast! We played games, danced and had lasagna for lunch. A huge thank you to Dave Wilson & Prime Example for coming out and playing for us! 😊

On Friday, March 14th, the Columbia Senior Center took a special trip to the Columbia Family Restaurant for breakfast. We had such a great time and the restaurant staff was amazing! The seniors hope to do another breakfast soon! 😊

Friday was a dream come true! The Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center and Columbia Senior Center came together at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster for their Prom. We had such a wonderful time being together with our sister center. Lots of laughs, dancing, and delicious food. A HUGE thank you goes to Mary Elizabeth at Community Action Partnership (see the last picture) for organizing and planning a day to remember! 🤍

Yesterday, the Lancaster County Office of Aging held an All-Center Picnic at Long’s Park. We all had lots of fun being together as a whole, meeting new people, playing BINGO, doing trivia and even having a cake walk. We shared lots of laughs as well! Please enjoy these photos from yesterday as much as we do. A HUGE THANK YOU to the lovely ladies from the Office of Aging (see last picture) who put this all together. 😊

Last Friday, Columbia Senior Center went to Leisure Lanes to bowl, and we all had such a great time. Sharing lots of laughs. The Lancaster County Office of Aging provided us with a cold packed lunch and Sue from Comfort Keepers, Lancaster PA was kind enough to stop by and bring all of the seniors a soft pretzel. A BIG thank you goes to all who helped make this day one to remember! 😊

On Wednesday, August 7, the Columbia Senior Center went on a trip to Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre to see The Sound of Music. It was such a great show - the actors were AMAZING. We got to enjoy some delicious lunch and quality time with each other. We definitely hope to do this again! ☺ A BIG thank you to Brenda for planning this!
