So….

People who track earthquakes say it wasn’t an earthquake.
People who fly planes really fast say they didn’t do it.
There’s no mushroom cloud.
The dam and the lake are still there.

Maybe - and I’m just saying maybe - it was a meteor ending its journey through space in the air over South Carolina. The sound and pressure, along with the widespread area where it was heard and felt, are similar to other known meteorite events.

Some of the most interesting things in history have flown through the Carolina skies.

Only call 911 if you SEE a REAL problem. If you SEE a neighbors house explode. If you SEE smoke or flames. If you SEE a huge crack in the earth that’s swallowing houses. Those are REAL problems that we can help with.

So far there are no reports of damage. We’ve got the finest Facebook fan base in the world gathering info and reporting in, we’ll update you as soon as we have more info.

Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to participate in a J Muller-Memorial Day Workout alongside the incredible team at Burn Boot Camp - Lake Murray, SC! 💪 We had a phenomenal time and were blown away by the turnout, the dedication, and the support shown throughout the event.

The Burn Community came together not only for an INTENSE Memorial Day workout, but also to honor the life and legacy of J Muller who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty May 26, 2023. Through the sales of commemorative t-shirts, they raised and donated a total of $1,350.00 to the Muller Memorial Training Fund through Irmo Fire Foundation, Inc. ❤️🤍💙

What a moving and meaningful week this has been. Thank you to everyone who has continued to help us honor J's legacy. 🤙

Today, we pause to remember Firefighter J Muller on the third anniversary of his unexpected passing. We are eternally grateful for the time we shared with him and the laughter and memories made along the way.

Well that sure escalated quickly. Today’s storms caused some flooding around town and a few lightning strikes led to house fires. According to the National Weather Service, that was a severe thunderstorm. I came up with some other names for it.

It wasn’t a good time to be on the road, but some of you went out there anyway. I’m not gonna name names, but you know who you are.

We’re in for more rain over the weekend. A lot more rain. Our biggest risks look like localized flooding events, especially if it rains hard for a prolonged period again. Stay weather wise, follow your favorite weather app for timely emergency notifications, and make good decisions. If you don’t, we’re here for you.

Today our friends at the industrial plant next door asked us if we could help them retrieve a duckling that was stuck in one of their water tanks.

This little duck found its way into a below ground tank and couldn’t climb or fly out. It may look like a simple rescue, but below ground facilities like this are actually very complicated and dangerous for us to enter, and the water was quite gross and smelly, so we had to try and rescue the duck from above.

We rigged up a milk crate on a rope and eventually convinced the duck to get in. The little guy was very reluctant to be saved, and a surprisingly fast swimmer. We used some water, some poles, some rope and a few kind words to convince the duck that a milk crate ride is cool, and after a dozen or so laps around the tank we managed to catch him.

One of the best parts about this job is never knowing what’s going to happen next.

We were honored to join CrossFit Soda City over the weekend for the annual "Muller" Hero WOD. We are incredibly grateful for Chris and the CFSC team for not only creating the one-of-a-kind workout in honor of our fallen brother, J, but for certifying it as an official CrossFit Hero WOD and hosting it each year!

Congratulations are in order to Brian Agan for winning first place, as well as our own Dakota Forsythe for swiping third, and his son Forrest for placing second!

Thank you to everyone who showed up, put in the work, and helped us continue to honor J. His legacy lives on. 🤙

We have quite a week ahead of us!

Today is International Firefighter’s Day! Since we’re firefighters, we’re a little confused. Do we celebrate at the same time around the world today or do we celebrate firefighters from different nations today? Either way, cookies or cupcakes can get the party started.

It’s also May the 4th, an important day for Star Wars fans. Not everybody may have seen all of the movies, but those that have know that episodes 4 through 6 are amazing. The rest are meh. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
Go 4th and prosper!

Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo, and this year it falls on Taco Tuesday. We’ve waited six years for the dates to line up, and it won’t happen again for another eleven years. Every Juan will have a great time! I’d drop an enchilada joke here, but it would probably be too cheesy. (I love a good pun or two - that’s how eye roll)
Go easy on the spicy stuff though - revenge of the sixth is rough.

The rest of the week is dedicated to recovery. And getting ready for Mother’s Day. You can swing and miss at any holiday except for Mother’s Day. You have 6 shopping days left.
