Earlier this month SCAC staff enjoyed an engaging and educational quality retreat in Florence at the F1 Pynor School of Healthcare Innovation.

At the staff retreat, we...

- enjoyed an interactive exercise focused on our Clifton Strengths

- had three professional development sessions focusing on, finance, Arts Grow SC, and accessibility language

- heard about Florece 1 arts programming from Erick Figueras

- learned about artist Brittany Gilbert’s art practice and how she utilized her SCAC grant

- learned about programming at Florence Symphony Orchestra, an SCAC grantee, and enjoyed a brief performance!

Earlier this month, we had the honor of hosting a group of artists and art agency directors from Belarus who are participating in the 2026 International Visitor Leadership Program. 😄

“The program featured a specialized thematic tour for Belarusian leaders exploring how creativity, free expression, and community partnerships drive innovation and civil society.”

During this meeting, SCAC staff and visitors discussed how our agency is structured, the economic impact of our grants, and examples/stories of some of the work we fund. Our visitors kindly gifted us a piece of artwork!
